New Audi RS5 = Nissan GTR Killer?
I'm sure some of have seen the cover or even read the article in the latest issue of UK's CAR Magazine, pitting it against the current E92 M3. The photos of the car, whether photochopped or not, look amazing. The fender flares are reminiscent of the current RS6. The retractable front and rear spoilers look functional and adds some extra pizazz to the overall appearance. Dead sexxy!
CAR mag claims it will have a twin-turbo version of the current NA 4.2L V8 that resides in the R8 and RS4 and will output 450hp. If the current RS4 is running 0-60 in 4.5, the RS5 stock should throw down C63-type numbers, possibly 4-flat? Yikes!
So here's the question: with chipped software to raise boost and tweak fuel/timing maps, plus your normal exhaust and suspension mods, this car will be pushing well over 500hp, can this car be considered a GTR killer? I think so.
With the motor now sitting behind the front axle instead of hanging over the front(close to 50/50 weight distribution), a couple hundred lbs less than the S5, 40/60 vectoring Quattro, magnetic ride suspension, and a lightning fast S-tronic tranny, this car should be a screamer! Dare I say it will smoke stock GTR's and 997 911TT's?
Put me down for an Ibis white one.
Your thoughts....

Curious, anyone know the drive wheel bias? One thing I like about the GTR is the fact that for the most part it is a rear wheel drive car, until it needs that extra grip
I do like the S5s, they look great.

With the RS4 being had for $75K+, I'm pretty sure the RS5 will go north of $80K loaded. Pricey, yes. But if it performs as well as it looks on paper, it'll be worth it.
So far, it looks like the same 40F/60R bias that we've seen on the B7 RS4/S5 and B8 chassis. It would be nice if Quattro Gmbh would make all the RS models at least 30/70 default.

But shouldnt it be stock to stock? What if they will chip a GTR???
))
BTW, we still dont know what engine it would have. i remember someone on anorth forum was saying that he actaully saw the new test mule and it didnt have turbos, but then if we look at the pics (tet mule) we can see something fimilar to the side mount intercoolers.

In any case the RS5 will undoubtedly be a formidable car
This is like playing the ultimate game of "what if" with cars. Its too soon to know what it will be capable of beating since the release date is unknown and the official specs have not been released yet either. If it comes out in say another 2 years, who knows if Nissan will have increased power output in the GTR by then. Just my .02
