but since you went with the blacked out theme on the S5, why didnt you have the chrome trim around the windows painted black?

Two reasons - it never works out well. It always chips and it becomes a bigger headache then its worth. Thats why on the Black I bought all new trim and had it carboned.
Second - it really doesnt really bother me and its ok cause of the mirrors at least to me.
