privacy

I want tint my car a 2009 S5 but nj law doesn't not permit any tint on the on the front two windows. i guess my question is what tint will get my the most privacy? Also being young with a nice car wouldnt be the first time i would have my car searched so im not looking for a reason to get pulled over. Otherwise id go limo black all around. also how to people like tiered tinting. I like the look at the smallest color change between different tints.
any help would be great

i know that i still might get pulled over but i guess i'm trying to find something with minim change of getting pulled over, i get any car with tint in nj could get pulled over. but i guess i'm just looking for something lightly tinted (ie less then 35 up front 20% on the side windows and 5% on the rear panal). i worried about change the levels of tints and it look horrible if the changes are to extreme. not to hide if someones in the car just who's in it. i like my privacy i find its entirely undervalued..

you could try to get away with a light tint on your windshield, go gradually darker on your side windows, then limo dark on the back. of course when you get pulled over roll both windows down

i don't know if this will work, but it's a thought.

i know every state is different. I have had limo tint on all my cars for the past 9 years and have yet to be harrassed. That being said I also don't drive like an idiot. Guess it just depends on what you wanna deal with. For me it's worth the risk for where I live. Just makes the car so much cooler. But then again the states I have lived in don't allow it, but won't just pull you over for just tint.

Another thing to consider is when I do get pulled over both windows are rolled down before I even stop....

just tell him your trying to keep the heat in your car if you get pulled over.

Not sure how you drive, but tint is illegal just like speeding, parking too long, running a yellow light etc etc. It's something I use to make the car look good, and it's the gamble I take

yea thats why im leaning towards get varying tint to make the tint in the front lighter.
BUT i worry that getting different levels of tint it ruin the look. the closest tint shop i looked around only had tint levels with 5% to 10% different in tint.

is there anyone with super light tint? i dont know how 70% tint would look it might help with heat but i feel it wont do anything for privacy.... btw guys im not worried about getting pulled out when i am driving like a dick i understand getting pulled over and might get **** for the tint. i just dont wanna get pulled over in some small town going 1 mph over the limit.

any opinions are helpful thanks guys

IMHO leighspped needs to learn some grammar and spelling...unless he is REALLY young. Try writing your post in a newer version of MSWORD that has both spell check and grammar check. After you make the corrections to your comments you can copy and paste your comments into the forum. It will make you seem much more intelligent and they will be easier for everyone to read.

Back to the tint question: 3M makes very high quality tint. They have varying levels of tint. 3M tint is not cheap, but it will not turn purple over time. You should be able to find an installer in your local area.

Tint

I'd suggest trying 50% on the front windows, and 35% on the rears. The 50% is light enough, so hopefully won't get noticed, but is dark enough to give a little privacy. The front windows will look lighter than the rear, but hopefully, that will just give the appearance that the front windows aren't tinted as they will look slightly lighter than the rear. I got caught for tint here in California, and ended up getting the front tint changed from 35% to 50%. I like the 50% as it helps reduce the heat in the car but hopefully won't be dark enough to cause me to get another ticket. You might want to have the person doing the tint demo the different types. - Jim

There are many good tints on the market that will help with heat and UV I know 3M has a newer one that is almost transparent so you could do all the windows and stay cool without attracting attention. I would stay off the fronts if you don't want to get hassled because if NJ is anything like CA they love to pull you over for little things like tint. Even if you are not doing anything wrong it is an inconvenience to modify your driving habits raising and lowering the windows. Heck the last time I tinted my car I got pulled over twice in two weeks in different towns and just pulled it off for the hassle factor .
