One doesn't blow that kind of coin because of 1/4 mile trap times. Anyone can buy a used Z06 add boltons and run 10's......but who in their right mind wants to drive a Vette


Alpina is so exclusive, aren't the wheels like 3k each?

 

If you notice I only brought up speed times due to the fact they were previously mentioned. While I do agree with you, I disagree too. If speed weren't an option, why not save a few dollars and get a normal 750, S550, or A8? Obviously it'd be very hard to get one of these into the 10's, but acceleration is still a key factor in purchasing an Alpina, S8, or S63.

Plus someone buying a large Sedan isn't really looking for a 2 seater beast.

I know Alpina's are extremely exclusive, but go look at how many S8's are made, and sold in Northern America it may be a bit shocking. Obviously not like an Alpia, but still pretty damn rare.

Just to clarify, I didn't address speed first. I only replied to Alpina's comment ...

 

All good playa, yeah S8 club is exclusive......I've seen maybe 3 on the road in years past. I've seen one alpina in my lifetime!

1.Bmw and Alpina have some family linkage.
2. Alpina's have a long history of forced induction engines. Now that BMW has gone to FI, Alpina will have to up its game. However, Alpina is highly customizable. For example theres a leather package for like $20k thats not even avail in the US.
3. While the new 7 has a claimed hp rating of 400, some have said its more.
4. oh yeah back on topic, the s8 is a very good car, when compared to the previous gen 7, I've always thot it was better looking inside and out. CONGRADS.

The dealer in here has a couple of new 2008 S8 cars with no miles on them. Asking price is USD 82,000. This sounds like a great price, no? ..and yes the cars come with the B&O sound system.

We're looking at a larger family car in the near future so looking at a pre-owned Cayenne GTS or maybe an S6/S8 depending on cost. Our budget is about 50k give or take....
