also the supercharged 6 has a lot more potential, mtm sees around 430hp with a piggyback that is in no way an ideal way to make power out of the motor and once you start talking new superchargers(as the pulley is rumored to be about as small as usable on the s4) we could see close to 500hp without a lot of work or drama.....

lots of choices for them so who knows
Once the RS5 goes into production, they will definitely stop TT-RS production. They will only produce one car at a time.

There was a 3.0L twin turbo that Audi developed back before they introduced the 4.2L powered S4. It was the engine that was rumored to go into the S4 until Audi surprised everyone with the V8. Audi has tried to be pretty convincing that they're making the move to supercharged engines as opposed to turbocharged for efficiency, but then again, who knows...

there was a new single turbo 3L v6 designed along side the new supercharged one. the supercharged one won out for its low down grunt for the a6 ( read this on audiworld a bit back) and can serve other duty in the s4 and im sure the q5 as well as just announced in the q7. I cannot see audi moving all the way away from turbos as the newest v8 is a 4l single turbo set to out later in the new a8. either way im so glad to see FI coming back to the s cars and hopefully the rs cars as well. audi for sure needs to spread more of the inline 5 turbo costs out so i would be interested to see where that motor pops up next rs3? who knows. now if people would just hurry up with the chips for the s4 mines here end of june and i would like 400+ hp asap when it shows up

I wouldn't argue this point except that the RS5 IS already in production...I've seen several pics of them roaming the streets of Europe.

I have an answer to this.....the TTrs is not made at quattro its made by Audi at a factory in Győr, Hungary where the rest of the tt's are made leaving the quattro factory open to make the rs5. this makes sense as they are now bringing the TTrs to canada (250) of them and maybe the US.

Then I stand corrected. This is definitely a new approach for Audi, where I'm used to seeing them only build one RS car at a time. It's definitely exciting! It will cut down the wait time between RS models for sure, which is great news!

All of you saying Audi produces one RS at a time, may have been right 3 years ago, but not today. The TT-RS, the RS6, and the RS5 are all being produced right now.

maybe a new audi rs4 and it's engine

I hope there will be a new Audi rs 4 and I think Audi will continue making small engines (V8 or V6) and light weight cars.

What I ment by it was that they are going to make fuel efficent engines not V12 or V10 for sedans
