RS4 Suspension Recall

Has anyone else with an RS4 received a recall letter from Audi? I have a 2007 RS4 and about 3 weeks ago got a letter from Audi requesting that I bring my car to a dealership to replace the entire DRC suspension on my car.

I made an appointment at Audi Jacksonville and they immediately replaced the entire suspension on the car- a 5+ hours of labor. This was done at no cost to me and the service team at Audi Jax did an excellent job. The car no rides like new- loving it again!!!!

Just curious to know if anyone else got the letter.

Ditch the DRC altogether and go with the Ohlins setup...you'll thank me later (rides much better than the stock setup).

This is exactly what I am doing-my DRC wasn't leaking, and I got the recall letter last month, but I went with the Stasis Ohlins SL with the Hotchkis swaybar-it's at the dealer now getting the setup completed.

If i'm not mistaken Stasis is slowly being integrated as a performance parts supplier for select Audi dealerships (similar to Dinan's relationship with BMW), which can only mean good things for more performance minded enthusiasts who want the dealer to perform all of their maintenance and service work while retaining the factory warranty. I don't think you can go wrong with Stasis since they beat down everything they sell at the track to make sure it works....Ohlins MS installed at the dealer and warrantied is a win situation.

just wondering the cost for the stasis install vs the DRC factory suspension. Sounds like a great time to do it if the car is a keeper. Which is what I believe this car to be for me. I am contacting my dealer about my suspension change out and was wondering what the cost and procedures were..... is it a complete exchange? and what was the problems anyway with some folks. A new suspension is great either way. thanks for the info. art

I am having my recall work done this week on my RS4. Seems there are a few other things than just the suspension on the recall list. Looking forward to the new ride when I pick it up today at lunch time.

That's a good deal.

I have the non-valved, non-resonated Milltek. I had the tips/cans ceramic coated satin black. I am very pleased with it and the fit/finish were fine on mine. It feels stronger but it may just be that it sounds so much better.

If you go with the non-valved version make sure you plug the vacuum lines.

Will they allow you to choose one over the other?

Not sure what you are asking-I paid for the Stasis suspension.

The C5 RS 6 had the same issues and recall, and the recall parts leaked as well. According to the service records for my RS 6, the DRC was replaced 3 times!

The DRC system is not exactly bulletproof, far from it I would say. I would change it out for the Stasis setup

I have Stasis MS, the best mod for the car IMO. Had several DRC fails and gave up trying. Currently trying to get reimbursed for the costs of the aftermarket setup, similar to the RS6 recall, many such owners are getting a check back from Audi.

BTW, one of the options people are doing is installing the European Super Sports DRC suspension. You will end up paying for some parts, but still have all-Audi parts under full warranty. Car drops a tad as well, and overall it is a lot better than the US DRC one.
