Extremely different. The S5 was a great car and i would recommend it, i was coming out of an Aston Martin Vantage 6 sp and and Boxster S 6 sp and i wanted a dd that was an automatic but with a transmission i could play with if the moment presented itself. I enjoyed the S5 very much but i found it to be a car you ride in as opposed to driving, so I went with the Spyder and could not be happier. As most know, i would classify the S5 as a fantastic GT as opposed to a sports car. I hope to pick up a V12 Vantage in the future after someone else takes the initial depreciation hit on an Aston, I have done that twice in the last four years so now it is another person's turn.

I think in warm climes the M3 makes the most sense, but if it snows or gets cold where you live an s5 would make more sense. Both are great.

Personally though I really like the s5 and seeing that JHMotorsports is making performance parts for it now (tune, exhaust, clutch/lwfw, lw rotors, Vortech supercharger kit for upwards of 475-500whp)...all that makes the S5 a serious contender. Seeing that they took the b6 S4 from 13.8 quarter mile times to high 12s with bolt one and into the 11s with an 8500 dollar supercharger kit, that can only mean good things for the S5 4.2

M3 or S5 is a personal choice. I could manage with either as long as it is stick.

Again, all my personal opinion and not in the least bit a knock on the M3, which is an amazing car in its own right.
Really sorry to hear that. Please, bring the car to Audi Silver Spring for your next service. It's a little farther away, but the service is awesome!

Hands down the worst and I mean the absolute worst experience I've had with car dealerships. Never again.

I just had to stop at Audi Kelowna, BC, Canada to get a tire replaced on my S5 and the service was amazing. Kind of what you expect when you purchase a German car.

I currently have an S6 - I've also had an M3 (not current rev) and a number of other Audis. I spend most of my time in MN and I wanted the car as a daily driver. High HP and RWD do not work well here in the winter.

I am contemplating moving the S6 for another, more modifiable, Audi-platform vehicle. I don't think I'd ever buy an RS versioned Audi...
