R8 colors

Hi! So, I'm thinking of buying an R8 4.2. I would like to know which colors hold their value best. The ones that I had in mind were red, white, and black. Thanks.

I'm guessing black or white. Those two colors are the most common ones I've seen.

I have a black V10 with carbon sideblades. Can't go wrong with white or black. Not sure about the red as far as holding the value.

I would also go with the carbon sideblades if you like that look.

What do you all think of the Jet Blue metallic color? Is it similar to the M3 silverstone? I haven't seen the Jet Blue in person. Initially I was leaning towards Ibis White but after seeing how dirty my GF's Alpine White BMW gets, I am favoring Ice Silver or Jet Blue. I think the Jet Blue is more unique but I wonder if it looks "feminine" in the flesh (no offense intended).

If I decide to get a 991 instead, I am going to switch to the new Silver scheme, I've had grey for my last 2 cars already. Time to change it up but stick with a low maintenance color.

Does the R8 come in any matte finishes special order from Audi, or would a matte finish have to be aftermarket?

The rarest seems to be the Mugello Blue?

Hi there,

I have been researching/shopping for an R8 also. I love the white but find very few. Of course black and silver are very common.

There are also few blue cars; dark, medium or ice.

To your question, I happen to think the Ice Blue is very nice on the R8 particularily with light grey or tan interior. IMO the lighter colors make the lines pop on the car better.

I have only seen hi-res pictures of an ice blue. Plan to look at one in the next week and will post back.

Jeff

Hey there. Generally I feel that way also...that white is boring. But there is something about white and the r8 that it seems so flaunt the lines and look of the car.
