'12 Daytona Gray R8 V10 - Full Vehicle Protection

Title says it all. Our 5th full vehicle protection in just 2 weeks. As tired as our master techs are, we did muster up some time for photos....All custom, seams are minimal and protection is maximized.

As many of you can imagine, clear bra apps can come in all sorts. This would be more of the extreme end, but gives those looking to potentially protecting their vehicles the options available...especially for those in California.

More incredible work from Premier. My car is completely covered with their Satin Guard product and everyone who sees the car asks me where I had the car painted matte black; they simply can't believe it's a wrap, the quality is that good.

My friend works with this product. He recently did a Lambo.

I cannot tell you how incredibly difficult it is to work with these clear bra sheets and get them to lay right without bubbles and without seams showing around things like complex compound curves, sharp angles, and sheet metal gaps.

Maybe a dumb question ... but would you still be able to wax the car? I know you can wash it, but over time, the paint beneath is going to lose some luster, no?

And, at some point, some sort of road debris is surely going to rip through the film and need to be replaced ... would the whole car have to be re-done so that the wrap matches?

In short, what kind of maintenance is required and how long does it last? And if you decide to remove it at some point, what kind of impact will it have on the paint underneath after two or three or five years?

The clear (3M) type 'bras' can and need to be waxed. Premier's Satin Guard does NOT get waxed, ever. The paint below is completely protected and should not "lose some luster". However, you may need to replace the clear bra product every 5 years at which time a really good cleaning of the paint would be great. Don't wax the car though before new film is applied.

A really large rock can cause damage and tear the film. If it's bad enough you can simply have the damaged section replaced. As long as the rest of the film has been maintained, i.e. cleaned and waxed, there shouldn't be an issue of the films 'matching'.

Maintenance is no different than a car without a 'clear bra'; wash and wax regularly. You can get a special film cleanser from Premier that helps with road tar, etc. As to how long the film will last it depends on maintenance; miles; what part of the country/environment the vehicle is driven in, etc. One caveat: the Satin Guard is fantastic in that you only need to wash it; never wax. It is great for a lazy old git like me!! lol

That's a good final caveat about the Premier because many of the modern store bought brand washes contain the wax and polish as well. 1-Step wash and shine stuff.

Very true regarding Satin Guard. It is highly stain resistant, so oils / fingerprints do not get on this product like it would on a conventional matte vinyl. Here's another one we are doing!
