My FIRST MOD...battery maintainer plug...
So I ended up having an extra Porsche battery maintainer since parting ways with my 911 C2S. So I figured that I could easily use it on my S5 Cabrio. Turns out, that the 12 volt sockets in the car are not powered when the engine is turned off. Now, why in the world did they do this? It doesn't make sense since many of the components in Audi cars are in the Porsche cars as well :roll eyes:
So I found a way to attach a lighter socket terminal directly to my battery posts (I found one from HRPWORLD.COM. Item #CTEK56-573 "Comfort Connect Cig Socket). It has an inline fuse to prevent accidental shorts and it easily tucks out of the way under the spare wheel well when not in use and I can easily tuck it out and plug my maintainer into it when the car is not being used.
