There are a number of reasons enthusiasts buy certain cars. Most want the top tier model to look different. Some people don't give a ****, but most car enthusiasts do care.

because you typed PORCHE (sic). Was just joking with you.

I understand what you're saying, but it seems the air of exclusivity being lost is important to you, and I frankly don't know why that is. An A4 2.0T with an RS4 widebody kit is neat to look at...but I don't want it, and it doesn't hurt my car any. Not sure why a TT s-line with a big spoiler should bother you?

I get that the TTRS isn't nearly as differentiated from the TTS and TT as the other RS cars have been from their A/S stable mates...thus the wing is kind of an important differentiating feature (as are the oval exhaust tips, honeycomb grill etc.) but I'm not sure it's really worthy of selling the car.

Let's not forget you said you were going to sell the car over this...a couple of times. This is not a reason worthy of selling a car and eating financial **** over.

Sorry about the typo, odd the computer did not catch it.

The dilution of the brand is the latest let down with the car.

I do love it, but the brakes are so sub par. Went through two sets of rotors and had to go out and get a set of Loba units to the tune of $2000. A true RS car, should be able to survive the odd track day.

Then Audi went on the war path with TD1. Not just for tunes, but apparently exhausts etc.

And then finally with diluting them visually.

--

I fear, if we aren't vocal and vigilant, badges like RS will just become marketing exercises. So many of the once great brands are really softening the performance end. The BMW brand is just as bad, but you can't get an M3 hood on a non M car.

Don't we want our cars to be MORE INTERESTING, more unique, something special to drive (must go beyond aesthetics)???

Thats what was drawing me to Porsche, even though the 991 has softened, they are still in it for the enthusiasts (for the moment). BUT, for the little amount I drive the TTRS, I just can't justify the expense (I have another car that is my halo/summer car)

The money I would have lost was not too much. Nothing compared to the depreciation that is going to come.
To be clear, I do LOVE the TTRS. I just wish Audi loved it as much.

You will find a very small percentage of car enthusiasts who do not.

I do sort of get your point....earlier in your thread you werent expressing it as clearly thats why you got some of the responses you did. Porsche has always been an enthusiast brand but they are also the kings of doing exactly what your talking about and ot selling out with SUVs and hideous sedans. If Audi had a better motorsports program beyond Le mans more good things might trickle down to the S and RS branded cars. I really wanted the RS but for my DD I wanted the DSG. When I want to row the gears I have a Gallardo and an M3 that are pure car. I just think the MKII TT is at the end of its life cycle and they are trying to sell them out with as many 'special' editions as they can dream up. Lamborghini is doing the same with the Gallardo.

I've got a solution to make your a unique as you'd like...

APR's Stage 3 Turbo upgrade coming out in a few months.. These kits have incredible reliability and literally "unmatched" customer service.

560awhp, that over 600hp. 0-60 in 2.8 seconds on regular tires and 93 octane. That TT would leave your V12 Vantage so far in the distance it wouldn't even be worth to pit them against each other

I never pit the TTRS against the V12 vthey both have their jobs and their own charms. No matter how fast the TT could get, it would never be able to 'compete' with the V12. There's more to a car than outright pace.

I drove the TTRS a little today. I was reminded how much I like it
