Yes and a Rs4 will crush a carrera you can bet on that...
so, stock carrera (not s, etc) should be crushed by an RS4. My guess would be the times should be near or better than the M3 CSL (27th).
Once again, I'm on board with the RS4. I'll own one, I love everything we know about the car so far... my point wasn't to say that the RS4 won't out perform a Carrera, but to say that it would "crush" it is a bit strong. If you use the M3 CSL and the performance list above as an example, as has been done here, you're talking about fractions of a second... that's hardly crushing anything.

wait, do you have an order guide? I thought MSRP was 65k, which still needs to be justified.
Here is the pricing guide for the UK. None for US yet...but you don't need a US pricing guide to be fairly certain that you won't be able to touch this car for 65K.

Just spoke with a rep in the bay area. Less than two months away from hitting showrooms. MSRP ~80k, also one of my dealer contacts also said they would not be marking up their alotment, and already have the first two spoken for.

he's telling me it will pull on the current M3 in 6th gear, not bad considering the weight difference if true.
Thats ludacris...I'll just take an M5 thank you very much.

I do agree, however, that if the price gets too out of control, I'll walk across the street and visit the Porsche dealer about a C4S... [/B]

Trying to get things worked out w/a rep and a manager. It hasn't been the smoothest process to this point, but I think its working itself out. Haven't talked to anyone named Josh, but I'm dealing with the Laurel on 159th. I assume you're referring to the one on Ogden, right?

Talking From my dealer, on the RS4.

If you've been following any of the recent RS4 threads on various audi related sites, you know there is a lot of speculation and very little fact about the RS4's price & delivery.

Recently, there were two separate meetings that discussed future products: the annual dealer forecast meeting with our regional management and a new product review for dealer principles & sales managers.

We learned the following about the RS4 from the above meetings:
- Ordering details should be available very shortly,

- SOP (Start Of Production) is (still) scheduled for 1/13/06

- Block* delivery to dealers is (still) scheduled for 3/24/06

- RS4 will be MY 2007.
* Means all cars are released from port on the same day.

Pricing: As of now, the "ESTIMATED" base price is $66,000 FOB factory - current destination charge is $720. and we do not know if a Federal "Gas Guzzler" Tax will be imposed. It is not anticipated that the RS4 will have very many options.

We also found out a little more about upcoming "S" cars. A V-10 (supposedly Lamborghini/Audi) engine will be in the 2007 S6 (420HP) & S8 (450HP) due out in late 3rd, early 4th quarter of 2006.

Well, it looks like its getting close....

http://www.audiworld.com/forum/s4b7.html

As I live in NYC, and only have storage for one car. Would you give up your 2001 C4 for an RS4? I am on the list, so itsa real option, need to make some choices soon!
