Just thought I'd share my horrible experiences with this company, Edge Racing. Last month I had a "small" spin-out during a local track event. I blew a tire (Hoosier) and ended up destroying (2) of my brand new Flik Justice wheels. I had bought the wheels for $99/each. A great price for a decent wheel.

I went to Edge Racing's web site to order (2) new wheels. The status says, "N/A". So I call and find out the wheels have been discontinued. WHAT??? Now what I am supposed to do? I ask to speak to a manager, but get forwarded to his voicemail. After leaving 5 messages over the past 2 weeks, along with over 10 emails, I get a call back today. Great customer service!

Well, after speaking the manager, Alex, he tells me they have (3) wheels left. Great, how much? $200/each. I tell him my situation and goes into a Economics 101 speech with me (Supply vs. Demand). Hilarious.

I tell him that I would've never bought the wheels if I had known they were being discontinued. He said, "they're not discontinued yet because we have 3 left." What an idiot.

Also, the day after I received my wheels, the price drops to $89/wheel. So I call and speak to the best customer service department in the country. They tell me that they'll credit my Visa $40 for the adjustment. Great! Not really, because it never happened. And Alex says they have no record of it. Funny because I called twice and emailed 3 times with the request.

I promised him I was going to post my experience with this company on every forum I belong to. So, here it is!

If you have 8 x 18 (5x112) Flik Justice wheels in Black, you will not be able to get a replacement wheel for much longer...plus, get ready to spend $200 a wheel.

 

Never heard of this brand. Not smart to buy cheap wheels in my opinion. Any wheel for $200 or less is worthless and I'd keep stock wheels instead.

 

they are nothing like DPE, iForged, HRE, or Kinesis, but they are good wheels for the price, they look great and are affordable

 

I have heard of them and at $99 a pop they were a steal for track wheels. They are pretty light too right? Are you buying the other 2 wheels at $200? You almost have to right?

 

No. I am probably going to sell the (2) good wheels...and buy another set of wheels. I don't want to give them another cent.

 

damn! that sucks! ...i always thought edgeracing had a good reputation. sorry to hear man, I'd offer you my discount on any stock wheels but theyre still super expensive for Ronal wheels :P and im in NJ and youre in MN.

keep in mind, you get what you pay for; but that CS really sucks, isn't there a way to complain to some government agency about stuff like this? this is no way to treat a customer

 

That's a complete blanket statement, and an uneducated one.

We have many wheels here that are very inexpensive and at very good quality. Some of our best "cheap" wheels are made with the same manufacturing technology as BBS Germany uses. They are just made in Korea so cost of production is low. And, the more you buy - the better the price gets. Our Kazera KZ-M is a wheel made specifically for spec-Miata racing and is a staple of that race community for $99 each.

The point is, don't let price fool you because in this industry price DOES NOT neccissarily designate quality. I've seen plenty of $1000 wheels that were total crap for quality.

If you are racing, why buy an expensive wheel anyway. They WILL get beat up, and they WILL get bent. I don't think it's that they broke, it's just that he should have been told it was discontinued before buying it. I always tell my customers if we are clearancing wheels out because of future unavailibility. If anything, they usually will buy five just in case.

 

this isn't the first complaint i've heard of from edgeracing.com. sorry to hear about the mess.
