Audi R8 – in Full Showroom Trim
Here are latest photos taken just yesterday in the United States capturing Audi’s upcoming new super sports car R8 in full showroom trim during the shooting of a commercial. Here the car can be seen for the first time clearly from all angles while speeding up and down a mountain pass for the film crew.
Overall design is nearly unchanged from the dramatic LeMans Quattro concept car which Audi had on display at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. Audi’s management had then decided to go ahead with a production version in order to give Audi a high-performance sports car to compete with the Porsche 911
The new sports car will not be called the LeMans, a name already used by Pontiac many years ago, but instead will stick with Audi’s typical alpha-numeric names and will be the R8. It is expected to go into production late this year, and will be launched in early 2007.

YuP 5 things need to be done...
- Lose the black underpart
- Lose the red stripe betweem the rear lights
- Lise the rims (I know theyre great) But the rims are LAMBO not AUDI (even if the two are the same company, keep the uniqueness)
- Get it in something other than silver, BRIGHTER might be BETTER
- Less grilles...???

I believe the black underpart and the red stripe will not be on the final car, and it will probably have rims unique to itself.
Silver, I'm sure will most likely still be the color it's photographed most in.
But I still like it a lot, in fact potentially more than the G, but we'll see.

Thats NOT showroom trim. There are several things missing. The flat black vinyl on the lower portions of the car is there to hide details of the body work . It will be painted in production trim. Red strip between the tail lights is only tape and will not appear. The panel on the sides behind the door will be available in different finishes including, brushed metal, titanium grey and body color. The wheels will be unique to the Audi product with an RS4 style, and S8 style in 20". Launch power will be the 4.2 420hp V8 linked to either a 6 Speed or DSG (STronic) transmission. The latter will be available on the Gallardo and the 5.2 V10 will be available on the R8 shortly after launch.
