owch...

The verdict is still out with me since I haven't had the chance to really get into it yet.

"the biggest disappointment in all of automotive history"

"well beyond a “disappointment”: it is actually utterly, utterly useless. "

Wow, maybe the car wasn't broken in and operating at it's full potential.

"It will only set off at full pelt, which is a nuisance when you’re having to contend with a gearbox that works like it’s on cannabis, and steering which — I feel sure — is made from old driftwood." :P

Wow, one of my clients just took delivery of his S6. Don't think I'll be forwarding the review.

audi will have a chance if the standard A6 comes in S6 form. forget about the RS hype if they can even deliver a promising S6.

Let's see now,

This guy Clarkson

Couldn't manage his bank account!

Couldn't hold his drink!

Couldn't book his holiday correctly!

What in Heaven's name would make you think he could review a car properly?, or why would you give credence to his judgement or objectivity?, which by his own admissions is pretty bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if he

Couldn't drive (maybe he was drunk again, (on his bank overdraft) and distracted by another vacation scheme...cheap bastard).

I'd be curious to see other reviews before drawing any conclusions.

I hate to say this guys, but Clarkson is 100% accurate about the S6.

I drove the fist S6 in Chicago and I was truly disapointed. I think the car is beautiful inside and out. I wrote a post about the car a while back. The car sounds great, has an amazing steering wheel , has the best seats in the world, but it lacks in every category for a V10 sports sedan.

Audi really should of had the S6 be an A6 Sline. The current Sline is ridiculous. This car would have been a great Sline model. And the car is way overpriced fully loaded.

Before you bash my post or Clarkson, I suggest you test drive one. It is a nice car BUT definately a huge dissapointment for the money and performance.

Just My Oppinion..

Your post is worth more than Clarkson's, he doesn't have a lot of objectivity and many times confuses the plot trying to be cute and entertaining.

Like I said I'd be more interested in seeing others reactions before I would draw conclusions, Clarkson may have gottenit accidentally right, by the law of averages.

Thanks for the insights.

Except that the RS4 has no back seat to speak of and has far less trunk space. Two different animals for two different needs.

Idk he is a pretty good writer and is a true car enthusiast. If you think about his comments they make sense too. The car is way underpowered and they did very little to make the suspension something "special" so whats the point? I would get a used E55 way before I stepped up to the S6.
