I'm sure dealers are taking deposits to get on the list. Just contact your local Audi dealer...

I used to be the first on the list at Premier Audi in New Mexico... pulled away after they overpriced it. Its too bad, its a gorgeous car. For that price, it should have a v10 in it.

Get in contact with your dealer, it's no problem.

Just make sure that your dealer is actually legit and has the ability to get the car. I know a lot of dealers who talk but when it comes down it, can't follow through. A reputable dealer would have no problem getting the one you want. But judging by your sig, it looks like you know a thing or two about buying cars

Champion Audi ( Coral Springs, Florida) has 50 orders and I was told it will take 2 years to get a car...starting now.

Wow - that's crazy. Hopefully that's just some of the pre-launch hype and excitement. I would think 6 months to a year from now it's a different story.

I'm pretty sure I could get near the top of my local dealership's list and not pay over sticker for about $10K deposit.

hi guys
i run Life Quality Audi
i dont know what some sales people are telling you, but official numbers for the R8 will be somewhere around ~220 units the first year.
most dealerships will be lucky if they can get allocation for it.
more than likely, if they can even get you a car, they will have a premium on it

my dealership only has an allocation for one car, and i had the deposit for 18 months now from one of our repeat customers.
i also have one of my customers/friend who literally has 4 A8s in his stable. a murci, a gt2 and a gt, an s4, a q7, a maybach, a g55, and i think a gallardo spyder who also wants one for his sons graduation present.

i can only get one car, and im not going to do the typical thing and charge over sticker. ill probably have to pay another dealer a premium to swap in an R8 or something along those lines.

We are not sure if we are going to get an allocation but we have a deposit to hold the spot if we do get one.

There is a rumor that only 20 dealers are going to be allowed to sell them. It requires a 6 figure investment by the dealer to get their staff and equipment up to speed.
