Anyone here if Audi is making a new RS6? If so how much hp, price and release date?

Same V10 as in the S6 but with a turbo. 520-550 hp.
Will debut at Geneva in 8th March, approx. in 1 week.

The new RS6 will probably surface around IAA in Sept.

It will have V10 twin turbo, 550-580 horses, quattro and a new DSG gear box.

The R8 and the new A/S5 will be the main attraction in Geneva, at least if you ask Audi

 

As always Audi has no clue when they are going to show the new RS6.
I have heard that it wont even be available in the states until late 2008 as a 2009 model. Which for Audi and their build capacity being limited is prolly gonna be very true.
My guess is that it will have 550hp (if that) and not one horse more, DSG would be nice but not probable along with a bunch of other nice things Audi wont bring to the states because of their " non-DOT compliance" BS.
And I am going to say that it will be overpriced for a modified A6 and of course very understated. This is all coming from me and my thoughts, and I had 2 RS6's and modded them as much as I could, but at some point I had to say why? Audi hit the ball out of the park with the RS4 and the R8, hopefully they wont disappoint with the new RS6.
I waited 9 mos for my first RS6 to be built, delivered etc. Will I go the same route again, hell no. If it is all they say its gonna be maybe in 2 years after they have them sitting on the lot. Till then the S8 is great, would be better if someone will make a aftermarket exhaust for the S8 besides MTM and their $5k for the one they offer, no thanks.

 

Like I said in all the other new RS6 threads, I have heard from a source of mine, who is involved with Audi that they will not be satisfied with the RS6 until they reach 600hp. Whether that is true or not, I do not know. Like the rest of you, I am going off what I have heard.

Now THAT would be good news !With the weight of the car they are gonna need that much power, damn Quattro, as good as it is it sure weighs the car down. That and with everything else the cars have right now, ie. 12 computers, 13 modules, 44 servo motors etc.
I hope they achieve their goal and kick some *** again.

Why dont you go custom? I know its so much better buying a made product but if you can fine a good shop, im sure they can do it for a couple g's.

I am willing to do that, my problem is where to get the resonators/mufflers from, how will they sound.
Maybe I shall call Eisenhaus and see if they have or plan on anything or can help with resonators/mufflers.
All I want to do is get MORE sound from this thing, not ridiculous loud but definately a better sounding than this stock choker.

 

i'm kinda curious how you would make a v10 with two turbos stapped to it make less than 600hp. they are probably trying to figure out where you buy wastegates that let you run less than 4psi lol.

I have no clue how many resonators there are on the s8 but, assuming you have 1 on each side, replace them with magnaflow resonators. They are the only "custom setup" ones I have used for the cars I've had so I dont know what other brands sound like but magnaflow resonators opens them up a little. For the mufflers i'd go with magnaflows too. There are tons of different kinds a shapes and tips you can choose from. Im assuming you want cat back exhausts right? Im not an exhaust expert so id get a few other peoples opinion on custom setups. SS mandrel bent catbacks "shouldn't" run more than 2-2.5k.

 

bump down the CR to 8.5:1 and run 5psi?

 

Audi is looking to build a M5 beater. hopefully it does reach close to 600hp. it'll be an amazing car!

 

Am guessing 550bhp,thats if their isnt going to be a RS8. Anyways 550bhp,am very very sure of that because the Audi has plans of giving the R8 a V10 (R10 maybe),thats WILL have a 600bhp V10,the same V10 thats in the S8 S6 and Gallardo (probably),with some differences of coarse because its will be way more high performance.The stock M5/M6 and CLS63/E63 already pick alot of punch,Its would be very interesting to see what would happen if BMW made CSL M5/M6 and Mercedes-Benz E63/CLS63AMG Blackseries.
