I am loving it. Its not so much a car as a work of art IMHO. If i owned one i would probably just oogle it in my garage as much as i would drive it.

Pics are back up. The car looks wonderful, I can't wait to see one in showrooms.

 

I like the interior, craftsmanship etc. But the roof line doesnt flow well, the car looks like it was meant to be sleeker but the passenger cabin bulges out of the top and looks out of place. Maybe if the roof line was sleeker it would be cool but I dont like it and for 100+k I'll pass. I would rather wait to see how the V10 fares on the track.

 

BD, are you serious? You don't miss the bull? I'm lovin' it; it has almost 7K miles now. Funny though, our tastes are too similar. I just put a deposit down on a R8 today. 2 years they say!

 

After seeing "live" pics of the black one.....I want one!!!

 

Saw the R8 yesterday at the Grand Prix of St. Petersberg. Sounded amazing going around the track. I think I would still rather have a Gallardo though.

Audi does it again! What else is new!? So many great offerings! Not only that but the quality level of these new vehicles puts BMW and Benz to shame...

 

Astonishing! And in person it is simply that. I got a chance to see it a few weeks back at the Sebring 12hr. Someone mentioned it on here, but it truely doesn't look like anything else on the road. The final decision has come down to this... The R8 or a GT3? I will have a dedicated race car in the near future so tracking is not going to be part of the equation for a new street car. The R8 for the looks for sure though.

BTW - The interior NEEDS the carbon interior or else it looks a bit plasticy, esp for an Audi. A car brand that arguably has the finest interior finish in the industry.

They will be available on the R8 as of week 26 ( some time during summer )
