Audi R8: Born Of a Star .... !
"The design of the new R8 is a clear statement ...."
During my visit to Geneva Motor Show, I was very much surprised with the unique appearance of this car.
The connection between the Le Mans quattro and the design of this new beast was very clear in real. The distinctive LED headlights, the wide air intakes, the massive use of carbon fiber, the full Aluminum body, and the rear mid-engine; forms the hart & the soul of the R8.
Current available engine is a V8 mid-engine with 4.2 liter & 4-valve FSI delivers 430 NM in torque with top speed of 300 Km/h. However, the V-10 engine should be ready on Frankfort Motor Show Sep.07 The R8 is optionally available with an R-tronic gearbox giving the option of gear-shifting by using either a joystick or a paddle switches on the steering wheel. Acceleration 0-100 Km/h in 4.6 sec.
