I lurked here for years, through numerous cars a Dinan 540/6, M3, Pcar 996 cab and I joined the darkside a couple months ago with the purchase of a Phantom Black RS4.
I will get some pics up today after a good wash.
I wanted to share a my weekend with you guys.
I went to F1 in Indy.
I drove down from Chicago with my buddy and his S6 wagon. We left Chicago at 5:46am and arrived at the Downtown Westin to grab our tickets by 9 on the dot ( we lost an hour due to the time change). I think we passed a dozen M cars non wanted any of the Audi's. A little Acura gave us a run, but at 140 he was long, long gone.
So we get into the Paddock parking and it is one photo after another. I have never seen such attention for an Audi before. I felt like a rockstar
I park the car, now covered in every species of bug and the Acura guy comes up and says too bad I had my AC on LOL. I didn't even respond. He stood there and walked off. I think he was shocked I didn't even reply. Little did he know my last run to 140 on him was in 6th and I gave it 1/2 throttle.
Another moron walked by and said remove those badges no one beleives you LOL.
So we watch the race, hop in the car. I sat in bumper to bumper from the speedway to downtown Chicago. Most people wanted a photo of the RS, others wanted to hear it. Every one gave me a big thumbs up.
I swear I was in a Ferrari.
Too bad I am married

So for all of you on the fence, just go buy one. Not only will you kill bugs fast, you'll be the envy of every Porsche, BMW and Merc at the local F1 race

So I was thinking, any of you other Chicago RS owners down for a gathering?

Welcome to the club!! Nice story...

Funny how all the P-car owners who transition to the RS4 are not all bummed by the doom-and-gloom naysayers about how much better the P-car is, etc. Can't wait to see the pics...

I get WAYY more comments on my RS4 then I ever did on my C4S.

Just this weekend, I was on a drive and a 997 Carrera S heard me go by twice, later on I ran into the guy again and he complemented me on how good the RS4 sounded as I ripped through the canyons.

I'll get some pics up today!
FWIW, the Pcar was probably the most mechanical Unsound (is that a word) car I ever had. It burned oil, had more gremlins then all my BMW's combined and it refused to hold a charge. I could go on and on about how terrible it was, but it was a Porsche and a thrill to drive every second behind the wheel.
The one thing I love about the Rs4 is the sleeper status, guys that know cars acknowledge you and everyone else just thinks its an A4. I can get in and out of traffic without idiots cutting me off and I have yet to get anything thrown at my car. Oh that was a daily treat in the Pcar!

Nice story and I have to agree, in the sedan awd drive category there is no competition especially for the winters we have here in Chicago. JZRS4 are any dealers in Chicago area dealing on the RS4?

WOW If I get anyone telling me that I have just RS4 badges I am going to pimp slap someone ...

As far as getting the looks that is a good thing, I hope that legacy continues when I am rolling downtown or on base near some hotties .. Good thing I am not married

I can't say enough about how great the Audi Exchange is to deal with. Ask for Ryan Meegan!
If you give him my intitials he will know who I am
I hope the car performs as well as the magazine writers. I have no doubt it will be a blast in the winter.

I had a great sales experience with Continental Audi with I believe Bill Manrot??? but that was back in 2000. While you were going thorugh the sales process, any of the dealers offering discounts on the RS4?

Congrats on an awesome ride.

Thanks.

I gave and received props from an S63 owner today.... Talk about a sick sedan!!

I love this car - worth every nickel (and it turns out I'll save $300/mo not including insurance, maintenance, etc.).

Most of the dealers wanted full list or a premium. I kept hunting and then my brother bought a Q7 from The Exchange. They were more then willing to cut a deal and I did trade in the M3.

Here are some pics: (I uploaded one as my avatar)
