Getting an RS6. Maintenance question.
Getting an RS6. Maintenance question.
An associate of mine is purschasing an RS6, right now he has an A4 and whenever maintenance arrives he has access to a shop to do basic work and computer access to check codes etc. We had a guy in the office today though who works in the auto industry telling us something about the "R" audi cars being complicated as far as the engine goes. He mentioned they are "AMG" motors which puzzled me because as far as I know AMG is mercedes only, I could be mistaken though. Anyways, is it to difficult to work on these cars on your own if you have a good mechanical backround and good equipment?

the 4.2lTT engines were designed by cosworth technologies. The work that needs to be done on them is fairly minor but brake pads and rotors every 10k is to be expected...the car is a great one to own and is one of the best supersedans to date...
Give me a call we specialize in the Rs6 and maintain over a dozen in So Cal
Great cars. But like everything Audi.. History is everything.. When purchasing an Rs6 by the best car you can find. Repairs are not cheap and finding someone who knows about the car is difficult.
We have a client who sends his car down to us from Salt Lake to have work done annually..
If the car is a clean car, go for it. The RS6 is a very rewarding everyday car. Not to mention you wont see yourself coming and going or feel lost in the sea of BMW's and MB's running around SoCal. The people who are in the "know" ........... Know what the RS6 is and thats all that matters..
Its stealthy super sedan that can run circles around most of the cars on the roads today......
Good luck!!
