i personally cant think of a whole lot of options. hell, even if you raise the price to unlimitd you dont get many more options

and also, i cant believe you said that a 911 is not as hardcore as an m/rs. when was the last time you drove a 911?
I think you have it in for me from every response you make to my posts... But I will humor you anyway.

I owned a Carrera S for a year (just got rid of it a month ago), so I am VERY well versed in the 911. Every magazine, web forum, etc. has said that the last 2 generations of 911 (except for GT3/GT2) are more of a GT than an outright sports car. My comment referred to the overt links Audi and BMW make to their S/RS and M cars with motorsports.

Fun to drive? Boxster, S2000, Z4M, SLK55, etc. etc. Fast? See previous answer. Sporty? Same - we're getting redundant. Room for four? None - I don't care that SC430s, RS4s, XKs, 911s, etc. claim to have back seats. No grown-up will fit in any of them. Maybe the 650i in a stretch. Under $65K? Boxster, S2000, Z4M, SLK (not sure if 55 makes it). The RS4 starts at $82K, so this is irrelevant.

We're all entitled to opinions - I just don't see how convertible versions of wonderful cars like the M3/RS4/etc. enhance the experience. FWIW, every review I've read about the RS4 cab complains about the lack of stiffness in the chassis, cowl shake, etc. No thanks....

The RS4 cab is a fun car. I respect that some people prefer not to be topless.....nonetheless........we'll see how the market is one this car

I am a fan of this color
There's always red

i actually dont have it in for you. it just seems that you and i tend not to share the same opinions for whatever reason. but you have more guns than i do so i will let you win this time j/k haha -never

at any rate my situation was that i had a motorcycle that i decided i wanted to no longer ride. i had a choice of getting/keeping an enclosed car or getting somthing fun etc. etc. that was an open top. but i really needed some practicality and the m3 fit the bill perfectly. so the 4 seats was a HUGE factor in what i purchased.

at any rate, in the m3 vert., there is no cowl shake. car is stiff (although not as stiff as coupe) but really the biggest problem in it is the extra weight.

so is it as good as the coupe. hell no. would have i gotten a lot more out of the coupe in terms of driving for what i need/want - no. but i do get to see the sun every day it is nice and i enjoy that tremendously. i really think that if i had not bought a vert i would be looking for a bike right now and that is one thing i wnated to avoid...

That's fair enough... your next car decision will determine whether I think you're a poseur or not. So stay away from that green Del Sol you've had your eye on!

Verone - I think they'll sell every one they bring in. That doesn't mean it's good.

funny you should mention that cuz there is a guy who works somewhere along my route to work who has one and for some time there we used to wind up on the same stretch of road at the same time. the car in that color is plain ugly.

btw, here is most of what i have had in the past, more or less in chronological order (notice, this is the first vert, but i cant promise that it will be the last):

2004 Honda CBR 1000RR
2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
2005 Porsche 911
2005 Range Rover Westminster Edition
2003 Hummer H2
2005 Chevy Corvette
2003 BMW ///M5
2002 BMW 540i - (still in the family)
1999 Honda CBR 600 F4
2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i
2002 Pontiac Grand Prix
1993 Nissan Maxima
1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
1991 Toyota Camry

oh, btw, my next car decision will not be based on weather i think you (or anyone else) will think i am or am not a poser. it will be based on my likes and dislikes and moods at that time. cheers.

The M3 convertible fits all those requirements very nicely. I think the New Gen M3 convertible will be awesome. How about american? I think the Mustang shelby cobra would fit these five requirements nicely too. Id like to see an RS5 convert instead of the RS4. Just doesnt look proporionate enough.

agreed, even if we take out the price requirement still fits nicely.

i forgot about the cobra. that is a good looking piece for relatively little money. i however hope that the cobra seats are much better than the GT seats cuz the latter plain and simple SUCK!
