No kidding - I know deleting the sunroof is almost 60lbs savings, but then resale is down the toilet. I wish manufacturers would quit making power seats standard. Personally, I like the manual adjustment in BMW, VW, Porsche, etc. I NEVER adjust my seat once it's set.

I was a very loyal BMW buyer. I pissed on anything else that came out and praised the Roundel, sometimes foolishly. I swore I would never join the dark side and look what I am driving now, the ultimate Dark Side Mobile

BMW is in a very tough spot, they have lost market share. Their cars have been Bangled and no that is not a good thing and the reasons why BMW drivers bought their cars have basically vanished.

BMW needs to get back to its roots producing drivers cars, not crap without soul.
If the new M3 is half as good as the old one I will be shocked.
I find it just stupid that BMW can not produce a car that is free of German Gremlins and comes with a 6 speed as a FIRST option, remember those days?

As for the looks and claimed power, the car is ugly and the power is too liitle, too late!

again, british magazines write wacky reviews on average. it is the same thing with motorcycle reviews.

patiently waiting for the USA reviews where the RS4 is 350 lbs heavier. i believe the outcome will be different once you add that weight.

but if it is a better car, then it is a better car. i will still sleep ok at night. i just can see me buying the rs4 convertible (fugly as opposed to the sedan) and i dont feel like going back to a sedan anytime soon

i think that if you want the more performance oriented track car you really should look into the m3...yea its ugly, but it seems like they are saying (as it is with M cars) that they feel more at home on the track. the rs4 is def the better looking car and isnt too much off the pace of the bmw, but not as good on the track. i think the rs4 should be priced about 10-12K under what it is, way too much money for something I dont feel is all that special, and the same goes for the m3, prob gonna be overpriced by about 10K and is prob even just as "not special" perception i get. i really think the new c63 amg is gonna come into this group and set a new benchmark. thats an exciting car to wait for.

honestly, i can think of many cars id buy over both of them...i *really* like coupes so 4 door cars dont do all that much for me...but if i were to buy a sedan...prob m5, then rs4...

to your track post, i think if you are a track ***** you buy a gayman S and be done with it, unless you need the space and can only have one car, then you are "forced" into a RS4, m5, m3 type car.

if i didnt need the extra two seats here and there i would have been in a porsche hands down as they are the "better" driver's car w/o question (at least to me, so please let's not start a porsche vs. rs4 debate here).

The RS4 is expensive, agreed. But then again you have to consider its exclusivity, you always pay for that (look at lambo vs ferrari). Then you also have to consider that BMW will have a dedicated production line to make 100,000 M3's that they want to make. RS4's however, once their chassis' roll off a regular Audi line, they are then shipped to Quattro GMBH and then hand built and tested from there. Apparently a ridiculous amount of time is spent on each car. And thats where the price comes from.

Yes sir!
What is it? 5 M3's to every RS4?
The M's used to be exclusive, now you see every Joe with one. RS cars are about as exclusive as you can get without dropping the coin to join the P-Car Club or Ferrari crew. I have only seen one other RS4 and I live in a city of 2+Million. No wonder why my car was so popular at F1 this year
I had to mod the **** out of my old BMW's. My RS4 will stay stock, it is perfect as is. They thought of everything!
I will be lovin life this winter when all the BMW's are stuck on the side of the road

agreed with your first statement there - i would even say more exclusive than P-cars.

second statement, you make me laugh. i drove the 330i last winter on summer tires (stupid i know) but never had a problems. winter tires will go on the m this year and i guarantee you i will be just fine.

More like 17 M3's for every RS4. I wouldn't call a porsche exclusive either, there are many on the road. Ferrari is exclusive.

both are what is called "unladen weight"..
Time to empty the car and put it on a scale. I thought it was closer to 3800 for euro cars as well.
Thank's!

i hate to say this...but the rs4 is not perfect from the factory...just to name a few...its stance is too high...exhaust needs to sound better

and porsche GT cars are very exclusive...and the 996 and 997 GT3/RS are about as perfect as u get from the factory and CGT.

True. IMO it needs suspension and exhaust as bad as the E46 M3 needed them. The only thing about the car I wouldn't touch is its brakes.

While many of us prefer a louder aftermarket exhaust the RS4 has one of the best sounding stock exhausts for a sub 120K car. 911's with standard exhaust are almost silent in comparison.
