2005 SL55 w/ 23,000 miles with "BUY IT NOW" of $58,995, can probably negotiate it down even more. Not affiliated with the seller, just passing this great deal to fellow 6speeders

P.S. The prices are coming down due to 2009 facelift, so now is the time to buy old SL's!

Not yet. SL63 is replacing SL55 in 2009, it is also getting a facelift.

6 months from now, they will be even less. I would wait until the redesigned SL's hit the showroom floors, dealers will be desperate to get rid of the older version. The absolutely best deal and best bang for the buck will be on SL65's.

Another good deal: 2006 SL600 with $144,000 MSRP for sale at $66,900. Less than half of MSRP in two years, these cars are amazing for the money.

Looking at all the paint damage on that car. I can already imagine how the previous owner trashed this car. I'd wait for a better sample. Price on these care will only come donw lower.

A luxury hardtop convertible that run low 11's in the 1/4 mile for under $70,000 has to be the best value for the money in any automobile currently sold period. What more can you ask for in a car really?

I really feel bad for the guys that own these cars. I thought Merc held their value. This is horrible how this car has depreciated.

the main problem is the core buyers for this type of car are rich enough to just lease new ones. I absolutely love the sl55 i've driven my friend's car many times BUT when I think about spending 60k on a used one or a nice porsche the merc loses everytime. If I was ever rich I would absolutely have an SL as my daily driver.

A car that can handle well and doesn't turn in like an elephant on stilts?

Unfortunately not very many cars hold their value, you could make the exact same observation about 996 Turbos. Bad for the owners, but great for people looking to buy used.
