SubscribeMine is White/black and comes in July.

If you see one on the showroom its most likely been sold already and on loan to the dealer from the buyer in exchange for a lower/no mark up.
Prices will go down but not for 2008 IMHO.
Nothing a dealer says can be used to predict demand- they lie.Originally Posted by oc6speed
Of the dealers I called all the GTRs for 2008 are spoken for with deposits or paid in full. If people with deposits back out there's still a long waiting list of buyers willing to fill in the spots. Even if it is true that 'all are spoken for and all deposits are paid' that means nothing!
It will ALL depend on how many people actually proceed at their contract prices. and this cannot be predicted.
Look at what happened with the E60M5s... BMW dealers 'getting' $25k over MSRP, waiting lists, etc, etc,. Then the car arrived and people started backing out, nobody was flipping these pups, all of a sudden dealers are calling down the waiting lists, and looking for people that weren't monitoring what was happening and would bite at these grossly inflated blue skys. AFter a short while it was MSRP, and cars in stock. BMW tried to hold the line there, but for naught. (Yes, SMG didn't help...)
Now, entirely different cars for sure.... but it will depend on what happens when the 'list positions' turn into 'sales'.

I ordered mine in March. Blk , Blk all options. in Nor CAL.
my brother got one for me as a grad present.. ordered it back in april. we got it for MSRP at a dealer in fresno. contract was signed, deposit payed, and were just waiting here patiently. were on the first shipment list, and was given a delivery date of july
I see what you're saying. You don't have enough info to make a prediction.
But that's what a prediction is. Just a guesstimate.
My dealers are telling me mid-July delivery.
I still have 2 slots open for 1st shipments in So. Cal.

You have a wonderful and generous brother.

I'm not making this up or trying to **** anyone off, but my local dealer told me that they will not be getting their first cars until October. The sales manager knows me and one of my friends is getting one of the first cars in this years allocation. When I told him last week that my friend was epecting his car any day now, or at least within June, the sales manager gave me a funny look and wondered where he got that info from. Last he heard they wer coming in October.
I am not getting one and have not been following them, so I certainly do not know. I am only passing on what the Albuquerque sales manager at Melloy Nissan/Jaguar/Lotus told me. Please don't shoot the messenger.

I believe that is correct, the deliveries were delayed due to some issues with emissions compliance or the like. Don't think it had anything to do with the car, just a paperwork/documentation issue, typicaly government red tape.Originally Posted by 997GT3NM

I would never pay over MSRP for a NISSAN or old school Datsun! For the money I would invest in upgrading to either a lambo or GTII. Bottom line the GTR is still a NISSAN. Sorry for bagging, but Porsche will always be Porsche. GTR will always be a Nissan, Corvette will always be a Chevy.

what do you mean "nissan wants $25k over"? nissan USA has been doing all it can to curtail mark up. And if a dealer marks it up, Nissan doesn't get anything from it.Originally Posted by oc6speed

Or is "nissan" what you call yourself?

I btw believe in a free market economy. More power to you if you can get it, I don't see anything wrong with it.

The GTR has the same hype as a Evo Rs, or a Subaru STI, with all its fancy gizmos.. Its just the oversized brother of them, but it really falls in the same plane.. I love the car and would like to have one as well for what it can do, but in the end, ill feel like I bought a hyped up Jap car with a bunch of electronic stuff and the body of a 350z..
Sure a M6 isnt as savvy, and a 997 TT out of the box falls short of the same performance, but a tuned 997TT will hold its ground just as well against a tuned GTR and look Always much better....
The GTR is one of the most hyped cars in history. More so than any evo or STi. And I don't know when proud individuals like yourself are going to realize that it is not a "hyped up jap (racist BTW) car with a bunch of electronic stuff and the body of a 350z." It is not a car that nissan pieced it together. It was built new from the ground up. Similarly, I could say the 997TT you want so much is a fixed up beetle, but at least I won't because I would never make such an ignorant comment as that. So enough with all the "the GTR is okay but nothing will ever compare to the M6/997TT" comments. And never make comments like "well if i tuned this car I could beat this tuned car" and all that BS. That's a different ball game and it comes down to the tuners, not the cars. Anyone knows an Sti can be suped up enough to beat an F430 but it really proves nothing about how good they were stock. And BTW, I don't mean to crush your pride or anything, but no one ever voted the 997TT as the most visually appealing car...Originally Posted by Porsche951S
