GTR Deposit, anyone?
The GTR is one of the most hyped cars in history. More so than any evo or STi. And I don't know when proud individuals like yourself are going to realize that it is not a "hyped up jap (racist BTW) car with a bunch of electronic stuff and the body of a 350z." It is not a car that nissan pieced it together. It was built new from the ground up. Similarly, I could say the 997TT you want so much is a fixed up beetle, but at least I won't because I would never make such an ignorant comment as that. So enough with all the "the GTR is okay but nothing will ever compare to the M6/997TT" comments. And never make comments like "well if i tuned this car I could beat this tuned car" and all that BS. That's a different ball game and it comes down to the tuners, not the cars. Anyone knows an Sti can be suped up enough to beat an F430 but it really proves nothing about how good they were stock. And BTW, I don't mean to crush your pride or anything, but no one ever voted the 997TT as the most visually appealing car...
Better you dont,
The GTR has the same hype as a Evo Rs, or a Subaru STI, with all its fancy gizmos.. Its just the oversized brother of them, but it really falls in the same plane.. I love the car and would like to have one as well for what it can do, but in the end, ill feel like I bought a hyped up Jap car with a bunch of electronic stuff and the body of a 350z..
Sure a M6 isnt as savvy, and a 997 TT out of the box falls short of the same performance, but a tuned 997TT will hold its ground just as well against a tuned GTR and look Always much better....

aren't you the person who started a thread called "women prefer M6 over 997tt?" or something like that? since you know nothing about cars, stop embarrassing yourself.
"I hate pot holes??" what are you 12....it was a "girls prefer M6 over 997tt thread", which has nothing to do with knowing cars.. In fact, looking at your past threads you've never made a point on anything nor can you currently provide an actual reason why you disagree with my post on the GTR... Quit being a Fool

The funny thing about car demand is it's a lot like stocks as NO ONE can predict the future of the car's worth. But rule number one is that "most" exotics gain nothing and definitely will lose some money. Just that sometimes it seems that you lose nothing because the intitial cost of a car is so high...
If you buy a Lambo TODAY, don't care what model it is - you WILL LOSE money selling it. A few select F-cars are excempt from this rule and for the current market, the Audi R8 commands over MSRP and the GTR.......but question is for how long? Once the new version of the Audi comes out, the old one will drop like a rock.
Ironically the Acura NSX when it first came out and in the later 2002+ models, dealers could NOT sell them off the lot even at MSRP and had to discount them like crazy to sell with nice lease plans. BUT look at the car now in 2008 when it's no longer made and the demand for a low mileage car is super high and earlier models in good shape are still commanding $40k+
GTR is going to be a hot car for some time I think and while some people will call it just a Nissan, to many it's an iconic car. I would love to see / ride in one as well but probably won't own one anytime soon.
So if the car has been pushed out to October, I'll keep my eyes peeled till then.

the first batch already stateside, waiting for the july 11th customer delivery date
Paying a markup on a car has to be the most idiotic thing a person can do. Why would anyone pay more than what is stated as the MSRP. Doesn't make sense to me. Yes, you might be the first one on your block to own one, but I guarantee in a few months the GTR won't be special. It's only special now, because of the hype created by NISSAN and how, Pleabs react to the marketing scheme. I said the same thing when the 997TT came out with a markup. Now you can pretty much pick one up for MSRP or a few dollars off.
