Need advice on this possible purchase

I am close to purchasing this Ruf 1986 930 turbo but need to know if $36.5 is too high to pay....in addition i am planning to purchase it without going to missouri to see it and do a PPI. In the past i have found just detailed review of carfax, service records and reputation of the seller is most important. also good pix are included....

I can't emphasize enough how important it is for you to go see the car and have it professionally inspected.

I've had a number of these, and while they are great machines they can also be a fortune to maintain if not property taken care of.

Very nice photos, but DO NOT buy the car without doing your diligence first. Trust me...$36.5k will be nothing compared to costs to fix it if it's not properly set up.

Good Luck and beautiful car.

The seller seems prettttty legit being he has over 10,000 feedback, with 100% of it being positive. I'm not to familiar with eBay, but if you can, contact some of the people on the feedback list and ask about their experience with the company and their purchases. I bought my 996TT sight unseen from Ruf Autocentre, and the expereince wasn't too bad. Some minor scratches that weren't mentioned and my cruise control doesn't work. And the MAF was shot.

drbill, if you really can't go see it, i'd find a reputable member of this or another board that lives in the area. i'm sure someone would be willing to go check it out in person. maybe send them a gift card or something for their time

This car was for sale a few months ago and didnt sell for some reason. At that time there was a lot of chatter as to whether it was a legit Ruf or not. Might be worth really crossing your T's on this one to make sure it is the real thing

Arrange a PPI w/compression and leakdown and fly out to personally inspect the car at that time.
Period.
