Just came back from my local Porsche dealer and I was surprised to see they have a CGT stashed away from public view. It's GT Silver and can be sold to you at MSRP! It's their first one ever and they don't want anyone touching it, including me. You can contact Reull Dinckins or Susan Moffitt at Moffitt Porsche in Bossier City, LA. There are many CGTs "stashed away" at dealers all across the country.

They led me to another building where customers aren't normally allowed in. Not even close to the show room. How's that for being "stashed"? I say they're just a little paranoid. You got to remember this is a small town dealer.

My dealer was just a little apprehensive on the situation because of the overwhelming magnitude of the CGT. I got a call from Susan Moffitt to let me know that they decided to move it on the showroom floor this evening. They have it roped off and a have someone guarding it from stray youngsters.
The tiny Porsche dealer in Tucson has one. Last time I was in Scottdale, they still had theirs.

IMHO... Since PAG said they would build as many CGT's as there is demand for, its the speculators that caused the overproduction.

Did you ask what the story with the car is?? I very much doubt that the CGT was a pool car blindly sent to the dealership. Did they have someone backout on the purchase? Was the contract between the customer and PAG or did the dealership purchase the car hoping to flip it with a markup? Did the customer take delivery and is having the dealership resale the car?

The solution is simple, don't finish production on the car. Don't build 1500. In fact, build less than 999. Then take the line and add turbos and put the thing way out ahead of other super cars with 850-1000 bhp. I'm tired of the Ford people talking about their reborn 35 year old Ferrari killer going for 2x MSRP (Ford GT).
