Thinking of selling my car - would there be any interest here?

Mods, I realize this post is off-topic, but a lot of Turbo owners might be interested in the car - just feeling out any interest. It's not actually for sale yet.

Anyway, due to the startup, I think it would be prudent for me to sell my car and get something cheaper, but arguably just as fun, like a Boxster, or more likely an S2000. Would there be much interest in my car?

If people want to see a mod list, let me know (not sure what I'd ask, probably in the 35-39K range).

Also, does anyone have any experience with S2000's? How reliable are they? Is there a decent aftermarket (non-ricey)?

Thanks!

S2000 is a great car. I daily drove one for 3 years. Can't say enough good things about it.

As far as your post, it wouldn't be off topic if you posted it in the for sale section

trade car for a trailer-home-office.
focus on your startup instead of cars, make some real $$$ soon, then buy condo and a porsche.

Cool, I'll go test drive one tomorrow. It's not actually for sale yet - I think a lot of Turbo owners will appreciate it the most, and could have a lot of fun with it as a project car or crazy daily driver.

With some Stasis Motorsports suspension, some more tuning, and maybe a 4:1 center diff with limited slip, this would be probably one of the top 3 S4's in the country (if it isn't already).

I have been daily driving my S2000 for over 1.5 years now and love it. The car is more fun to drive than anything this side of shifter kart. I keep thinking of selling it for investment purposes but I can not part with it. I do not think I can find anything for 20-22k(what i could get for it) that would be 1/10th as fun. You will be down on power compared to your S4 but the fun factor I am sure will make up for it. I love your S4, i am sure it will find a good home. Keep us updated on the s2k search.

Glad to hear, it will be my daily driver as well. Is there a decent aftermarket? I'd probably want to get an exhaust system and wheels for it (don't think it needs a short shifter or suspension or brakes). Thanks!

The throw on the shifter is so short you will not need to shorten it one bit. I have a HKS Hyper exhaust and get compliments everywhere i go. Not a ricey sound but more of a high winding mini F1/bike mix. Brakes are nice and suspension is pretty good, but if you get wheels you might want to lower the car a bit and there are plenty of good suspension choices out there. Also take a look into gettting some 4.57 or 4.77 gears for the S2k. Makes the car accelerate so much quicker. I dont have them but have driven an S2000 with them. HUGE difference

Go drive a S2000, then come over here and drive a new Boxster, or take mine out, see what you think.

Carlsen Porsche is offering YUGE discounts on the remaining '04 Boxsters here, I love my car, I've driven a few S2000's, I would prefer a Boxster....

If you want a hook up, call me 650.701.9200 X 103

Honda or Porsche.....?

Hey Brian, thanks for the heads up. I think getting a Boxster might be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire - I'm trying to cut variable costs, and p-cars aren't any cheaper to maintain than my car. I'll stop by and check them out though, might as well .

To be honest, the only expenses Ive had on mine have been upgrades. I dont know why a Boxster would be more to buy/maintain than a S2000...

i saw/heard a new boxster pulling away on el cam the other day. love the new sound and look of the car.

i'm with brian. i've driven both. i'll take boxster over s2k anyday. altho insurance and regular small maintenance like oil-plugs change is probably less $$$ with s2k.

Oil change isnt that much,
Plugs arent needed till 60K...

The insurance isn't bad at all on mine.

yea, but i saw how bad my plugs look at 38k when sharky pulled them out. i'd recommend changing more frequent than factory intervals... same with oil change...
