2002 Porsche 911 Turbo
2002 Porsche 911 Turbo
Year: 2002
Make: Porsche
Model: 911
Price: $39000
Mileage: 41400
Color: Seal Grey
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): NC
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
Mods:
Engine: K24s, Flashed. R550 package installed by Orton Performance.
Suspension: converted to RWD.
Body: GT2 front bumper by MA Shaw (I have the stock bumper that I will throw in free – very light damage from a black rubber bumper that backed into me at 3 mph in a parking lot and smudged the clear bra and barely cracked the paint surface the size of a dime (picture). GT2 rear spoiler (I have an extra Aerokit spoiler that can be purchased (picture)).
Other: Stock mufflers right now since I am currently daily driving, but have AWEs (pictured) which are thrown in as part of the deal – very nice sound.
Wheels - Champion RG5 19s. Michelin Pilot Sport 2s – 315 X 25 ZR19 rears; 235 X 35 ZR19 front – 4,000 miles on them. No tracking, no 120 mph turns.
Full black leather interior with a few bits of carbon (sills, steering wheel, shifter, p brake) Supple leather. No wear to speak of.
No accidents above 3 mph. No significant dings or chips. Paint is in great shape. GT2 front bumper is relatively new, so there was paintwork on that.
I bought the car from another 6Speeder in Feb 2009 with 26,000 miles – 10,000 miles on the mods at the time. Weekend car for the first few months, then daily driver for 6 months then weekend driver and now back to daily driver. Regular maintenance by indie then converted to dealer when indie moved too far away. No issues whatsoever with mods or the entire car for that matter. Yes, it’s a great daily driver car for all those first time buyers that ask.
Reluctantly selling mainly because I have a wife and three sons driving and an effing two car garage. Six cars don’t fit too well. That said, I’m not desperate to sell, just need more room to maneuver in the driveway.
Full disclosure Items:
Car history. I can provide you the CarFax which will show this vehicle was technically Lemon—lawed in 2003 by the original owner. Claim was an oil leak, which was corrected. Well, 35,000 miles later, there is still no leak. Here is part of the thread from the seller back in 2009:
“The vehicle history does show the car was reacquired and fully repaired by Porsche NA if that's what you're asking. Pricing the car over $10k less than equivalent vehicles out there should offset any concerns. Additionally, I am so confident there is no issue with the car that if there is an oil leak I will pay the inspection fee. The prospective buyer will be out nothing.
This oil leak was with the very first owner and there have been no issues selling or reselling the car. Take it for what you will, but when researching with Porsche I was informed the reacquisition was to appease a good, but very very picky customer.”
Again, no issues since, but there will always be this minor taint on the record, so sale price posted reflects this “discrepancy”.
Other issues:
Ignition switch has that issue that it will not click back to where it belongs. When you start up, you have to move the key back to the left approx. 1/8th of an inch to disengage the starter motor. When you turn off, you have to jiggle/twist the key to ensure that key is disengaged. A minor inconvenience to me, but you may want to have it fixed ($30 part, approx. $500 labor from dealer).
Wheels: both rears have minor curb rash. One mistake on each. See pictures.
Suspension work – I don’t have all the details on what was done, other than “it was converted to GT2 specs”. I’m sure a qualified Porsche guy could take a look and determine what all was done, but the RWD conversion is definite.
Clear Bra – front end had a clear bra. When bumped into in the parking lot, I chose to replace the stock bumper with the GT2 bumper. The new bumper does not have the clear bra. The rest of the clear bra is a little dull and really should be removed. I just never got around to it. It doesn’t look terrible, just not perfect.
These issues are reflected in the sale price and are not points for further negotiation.

Feedback please
500 looks, no comments?!?!?!
Too many pictures? (everyone asks for pictures, so I posted a bunch).
Too much info/Not enough info? (I tried to point out all the features - and flaws)
Price? (seems reasonable compared with other listings, though I may just be wrong)
Location? Color? tire selection? radio station I was tuned to during pics?
Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

Not right now. I want the buyer to have first crack at both decklids. If the buyer doesn't want both, I'll let you (and others who have asked) know.
