I recently bought a brand new m3, but my military orders have changed, so my car priorities have also. With that being said, id like to get into 997tt.

Interior color? Full leather?

 

The interior is called carbon structure. It has leather on side bolsters (front and back). So no, not full leather. It kind of looks like carbon fibre (thus the name), so its dark with little white dots

 

Pics dont do it justice. First time i saw the pics i didnt like it, but then i saw it in real life and i liked it a lot. I kind of got tired of leather.

After looking at some 997tt pricing, id be willing to do an even trade for the right car.

I currently have a straight sale offer, but would rather just swap cars.

 

I would try and sell it first then use the money to negotiate for the 997TT, however a low mileage <20k miles in pristine condition worth north of $70k today market. There are a lot of Tiptronic 997TT on the market but very rare to find a 6speed with low mileage nowadays

 

low mileage 997tt for 60k.... not gonna happen. unless you define low mileage as 65k miles

 

m3 is an awesome car for sure. i'd be surprised if anyone with a 997tt would trade. regardless of the transmission or mileage. much less, give money as well. but still, its interesting to see how much mileage one would have to have on the 997, to make the swap, to the newer , lower mileage m.

 

Curious what changes in military orders explain trading a sports car for another sports car? Should of bought a turbo to begin with

 

All valid posts. Before i bought an m3 a 997tt came to my attention, $62k, 3xk miles. Im looking for a similar deal.

As far as m3 vs 997tt for germany, i have no use for warranty in germany (one of the key decisions that swayed me towards m3 vs p). Second, the new m3 is limited to 155mph (currently a chip runs $5k. Piggy back is a lot less, but doesnt remove the limiter). Plus, i think highspeed cruising is going to be easier in 997 (due to gearing), m3 is geared too high. Finally, ill have much easier time selling a 997 in germany than an m3 (before i leave).

 

P.s. I have seen 3 997tt within 500 miles that are in the $65-70k (im sure there is room for negotiations) range under 40k miles.
