I’ve owned the car for more than two years. In that time I’ve put around 10k miles onit.
The reason I’m selling the car is that my wife won’t drive amanual. We have two kids with their ownschedules and all the trappings of life to ship around and not being able toswap cars has is now a serious bone of contention. So it has to go and in its place will be a 997Carrera S with a PDK which has yet to be purchased. I’m looking hard and I’d prefer white, greyor blue with Sport Chrono. I’d temptedinto a 135i with DCT as a short term fix at the right price to relive some memories. Unfortunately thebudget doesn’t extend to a newer PDK turbo
The car is very original including all interior and exteriortrim and paint. The PPI shows originalpaint end to end and apart from some stone chips is blemish free. There is a 1” hole in the plastic door sillcover however this can only be seen if you get under the car. There is no curb rash on the hollow-spoketurbo twists which will come with the original Porsche enamel crest centercaps.
Inside the driver’s car mat has a worn area near the clutchfrom gear changing heals. I liked thatit was original and part of the patina so I haven’t changed it. The carbon fiber is in great shapethrough-out apart from the strips that run under the windshield which havecurled. This is typical for this trim level and I understand that they can bereshaped with heat. The carbon fiber hasminimal yellowing owing to the time its spent garaged and out of the sun. UnfortunatelyI only have 1 key for the car.
The manual transmission is not afflicted with the secondgear pop-out issue however during the last oil change (a couple of months back)the mechanic suggested that the transmission mount could be changed.
Maintenance done since I’ve owned the car include
- Serpentine belt
- Clutch accumulator; the whole assembly asrecommended by Porsche
- 30k service including plugs, filters and liquids
- BOV’s
- Tires
- Front splitter
- Battery and ignition switch (both in the lastmonth)
- Wiper blades (surprisingly expensive)
I’ve added a UMW Stage 1 tune since owning the car which isjust the software update. Turbo’s, pipesand everything else is original to the car. The tune makes it more drivableand can easily be reversed. The Carfax is clean.
The price is as-is, where-is and comparable to what I’d getas a trade-in with tax credit. I’m opento private and dealer trades for the ‘right’ 997 S.

Great honest seller and great guy!

Great honest seller and great guy!
That's right- the car is sold and with docboy - a great guy to deal with. For now I've replaced it with a 135i DCT which is proving to be a great medium distance kid hauler and more my wife's car than mine. We're all missing the Turbo and already thinking of when the next might arrive
