Looking to buy a '09-'11 R8 v10 with the gated shifter. Open on colors and options, but mods (wheels, springs, tunes, etc.) are preferred.

This is my first r8, so any thoughts on higher mileage (30K+) examples out there are appreciated.

The magnetic shocks can be prone to leaking. That is probably the biggest issue. Some A/C problems have been reported. Also on the very early cars Audi had a frame cracking issue near the front shock towers. I am looking into an R8 as my next vehicle and other than these issues which are few and far between, they seem relatively bullet proof and all owners love the car.

Yea, have Audi make sure the shocks are OK, AC compressor is big money too but it's more prone on V8 models. I loved my 10 Ibis Gated.
