wtb 991 (not even sure I have right chassis code)

Hi All, I am looking for 2012+ 911S and wondering if I can get some opinion as to what years are best? I am coming off a 996 so should be a pretty dramatic improvement, thinking even a std. Carrera would be an eye opener for me, opinions welcomed. Budgeting 65-75k? Reasonable? TIA

The 991.1's from 2012.5 to 2016 are virtually identical (some minor options added along the way but the interior, exterior, and engines are identical among the model years). I had a 2012.5 991.1S "launch car" and a 2013 991.1S previously, both of which I bought lightly used (I currently have a 2018 911.2GTS which I ordered new). There really isn't a "some years are best" with the 991.1 unless you HAVE to have a certain option (like the aerokit cup spoiler) that came out later or a certain model (like the GTS) that came out in 2015.

I wouldn't be scared off a 2012.5, either - I had a launch car for two years with great results. Any problems that might have popped up (like failures with the change over valves in early 991's) have most likely been resolved. The 9A1 engine (which was also in the 997.2) has been very reliable.

Good luck!

Yes sir, my car and I'm in Burbank but unfortunately I'm traveling all next week...after that I'll be in Burbank for a while. Feel free to email/text/call via the craigslist ad if you have any interest or questions in general about the 911.1.

I've really enjoyed it over the last 3yrs and as Hurricane said, no big differences except a few options here or there (e.g no backup camera till 2015).

Good Luck With your Search!
