08 vantage roadster own last 7 years, need a change. manual used vantage or f430?
Ive had a 08 vantage roadster owner last 7 years. Its been a great ownership. Ive spent $15k modding the car and love the stance and the way it looks. However im just a bit bored. I usually keep cars 2-3 years and get something else. this is the longest ive kept any car ever. Its my 3rd car so doesnt see a lot of driving.
I miss having a manual, so i was thinking of selling the vantage roadster. Unfortunately ive lost a ton of money on this car, mostly depreciation. I can probally get 35k ish for it realistically. I will lost about half in 7 years.
Here are my options after i sell. WHat do you guys think?
1. Used manual v8 vantage (i can cheap out get a 06-07 for $35k ish) or do a 2012 for $60k. Im afraid to get a 2012, since in 5-6 year will be worth $35k again.
2. F430 (This might be my first choice right now). Red- $80-100k Would get the convertible. Move away from the aston brand for a while. Anyone have a 430 they can share their expeirenec with?

I don't know if you've researched the F430 yet but the manuals are VERY rare. Then a convertible on top of that and you may be searching for a while.
@brightoncorgi and I always seem to suggest you look at Lotus on these types of threads. The Evora GT410 and 400 is a throwback to cars that speak to you through the suspension, chassis and steering. Modern cars just don't do it any more. It's often stated that if Lotus could get more people to test drive the cars, they'd sell many more. Because no one buys them, you can find new ones for $20-30k off MSRP. I bought my Elise 7 years ago love it more now than when I bought it. It is such a fantastic, unique experience that I will never sell it.

Very nice Vantage roadster!
I'd get the Ferrari for variety. I'd be disappointed with the automatic transmission too, but as many mentioned, the price point is too high for a gated manual.
The manual vantage is nice, and I love mine, but I'm afraid it'll be all too familiar an experience. And with the way the prices are going on them, you'd be able to pick one up at a great price in the future anyway. You may have the opportunity to have both given some time and money!

well for well under 60k you could get a brand new totally loaded C7 corvette Grand Sport with a manual, but that too will probably depreciate, and well it certainly is no aston martin lol not even close
Lotus Evora is a good suggestion, you could probably find a S or even a 400 for 60k
you aren't going to find a manual ferrari for that low of a price, but the F430 I understand is a very nice car
If I were you I'd keep the aston (its what I did when I was looking around last summer) and just so you know you'll probably get offered a lot less than 35k unless yours is super low miles

I'm not sure you can find a clean F430 for 60K either, I'm guessing it will cost between 80-90k, maybe even higher. You could get into a 360 for 60-70 range. I like the look of the 360s better but they do have draw backs compared to the F430.
You mention that you want to get back into a manual, but your 1st choice is an automatic Ferrari? I was just looking on cars.com, it's amazing, manual F430s command the better part of $100,000 premium over the F1 cars!
