Just a note, this doesn't look like the Fabspeed Super Sport (loud) that I have or other pictures show, such as the IA muffler shootout.

I received a picture of the exhaust and you can see "GT2 Twin Turbo" etched/stamped on the muffler. Wasn't this on the older Fabspeed exhausts?

OK, my bad maybe....its just that my exhaust and the pictures in the IA shootout look the same.....there is seperation between the upper and lower cans....looks like seperate pieces....while the quiet exhaust looks like yours, with the single can.
On the Super Sport exhaust I have, on the IA exhaust shootout from 2003, and on the old Fabspeed site the Super Sport looks the same.
Its not the single can like the Sport version, and its not the left half/right half version they sell now.
There are two ways to design exhausts. The way everyone else does it is that the gas from the passenger side headers exits the car on the passenger side....obviously the driver side does the same. If you look at this closely it has the advantage that gas can be muffled more efficiently.....but the downside is increased backpressure.
The other method (called "straight through" design) involves the gas from the passenger side exiting on the driver side. This is a better flow/less back pressure design. Its similar to how long tube headers are superior to short tube.
All the custom exhausts are designed this way (ask Markski, Craig, and G Russell). Of course a drawback is increased resonance. Fabspeed has been hammered about this for years, which is why they finally left the straight through design....its just too hard core for most people.
