996TT Champion RG5's, worth?

I've been offered a set of Champion RG5 wheels 18" 11.5 and 8.5, offsets 44/45, off another 996TT in unmarked condition with Michelin tyres 50% tread, no centre caps, lugs or spacers.
Are they worth buying and any thoughts on what they are worth?

TIA

Mark

RG5's are sweet! I used to have a set on my car. You don't need spacers. Great light, strong wheel.

4500 NEW...........used

Putting a price on used wheels is tough. Some sellers advertise for months b4 the right buyer comes along. The initial cost for top quality wheels is high, IMO used wheels usually go for 50-60% of new.........in very good condition.

The issue with most buyers is that spending $2200 for a set of used wheels, without a warranty..........just is a hard buy. Now factor in the $1500 for tires and you are pretty close ($500-$1,000) to a new set. (not champions)

If you can buy them for $1800-2000, that would be a very good deal. BTW-I usually don't factor tires into the price unless they have less than 1000 miles and are in really good condition. 50% tread left are pretty used up, so you will need to replace them soon!

I sold same for $2,500, I just sold HRE C-21's in 19" with tires for $2,000. Anywhere in that range sounds about right.

yah, I would say 2k-2.5k if they're in great shape with tires.

Lizard: yah it's polar...it's my favorite on the 996 as well. Those wheels are in storage because over 4 years the lips took a beating. I went for a little different look as you can see in my avatar. Yours is looking good too!

i would start at asking $2.5K. be patient and see what happens. worst thing you could do is get impatient and firesale 'em. Champions are some of the best out their in quality (one-piece) and looks.

Lizard1, is that your 328? How do you like it? I've been wanting a ferrari since forever and now that I've cleaned up the garage and convinced myself I can fit two cars, I'm tempted. Is there a good forum for 328 owners?

Wheels, I sarcastically indicated to him that his price was a bit too high as per your suggestion.

fchat seems pretty comparable to rennlist for technical stuff and DIY advice. down to earth guys over there

i searched for about one yr and then came across this car. somehow i overlooked it and it was still for sale up in Maryland so i grabbed it and Ron (vipertestarossa) picked it up for me and drove 1700 miles in a day and a half to get it to me. enjoy it immensely. i've come to the realization that i'm just gonna keep adding cars and probably never get rid of them as i don't see how one could drop a 328??? especially since their values are on the up and up right now.

enjoy - the search is half the fun
