Arrow Feeler: FS: 2005 997 911 Carrerra Coupe w/lots of options

Hi all,

One of my good friends is thinking about selling his 2005 997. He asked me to post an ad here to get an idea of interest and field some questions. I am intimately familiar with the vehicle and have driven it numerous times.

Here are the details:

In service date: 8/30/04
Original Price: $69,300
Seal Grey Metallic: $825
Power Seat Package: $1,550
Bi-Xenon Package: $1,090
Self Dimming Mirrors: $385
Heated Front Seats: $480
3-Spoke Sport Steering Wheel: $250
Sport Chrono Package: $920
Navigation w/Phone: $2,070
Bose Sound: $1,390

Total Retail Price: $79,055

In addition, the car has tinted windows and full clear bra including sides and mirrors.

The not so perfect on the vehicle as depicted by the pictures, is the front and rear bumpers. Rear bumper has a scratch on the driver side corner. The two rear bumperrettes both have scratches. The front bumper has a scratch and a small crack on the lower passenger side, and ther is a scratch on the passenger side corner. The good thing is that the front bumper scratches basically ate the clear bra and not much of the paint. Replacing or removing the clear bra will yield a pretty clean front bumper.

The car has 21,000 mi and is in perfect mechanical condition.

Interior is also near perfect.

Front right tire was replaced at 19,700 mil due to puncture and at that time the thread rating on the tires was as follows: l/f 7/32; r/f 10/32; r/r 7/32; l/r 7/32 as measured by JustTires.

Car was never raced or abused. My friend is an avid porsche fanatic and has a race prepped 993 as well as a "daily driver" 993 amongst others.

All manuals including original window sticker are present. Car was just detailed throughout.

Asking price $57,000.00

let me know of any questions or comments.

only 10 pics allowed per post so here are the rest:

heated seats; sport chrono package; navigation with phone interface

21,000 mi.; sport steering wheel.

floor matts in great shape.

some scratches on the bumperrettes.

rear bumper, drivers side corner. rest of the bumper is clean.

passenger side front bumper scratches in the clear bra.

front bumper, passenger side corner, scratches into the clear bra. rest of bumper ok.

As mentioned above, the white ruffled damage you see in the front is the clearbra - not the paint. This applies both to the front passenger corner and side of the bumper.

The paint on the vehicle is near mint and was claybar(ed) as part of the detail which included claybar, polish, and wax. It appears that some of the wax got into the ruffled edges of the clearbra and that is partly why they appear much whiter than they are.

There is absolutely no paint work on this vehicle - not even touch up. No accidents. The condition is exactly as depicted in the pictures.

Based on some research on cars.com and autotrader.com, this should be the cheapest 911 out there period (regardless of condition or miles). Please let me know of any thoughts or comments.

Car is available for inspection in Chicago.

hey guys, how come the low interest? I mean the options are right, the miles are good. price too high? is it because of the scratches? any comments, thoughts?

hmm, it would be a very desireable car for me but the scratches turn me off right away...I automatically think of how much it would cost to fix all of that.

Scratches + the fact that I'd want full leather (and would probably go for an S even though it would be a basic daily for me...)

I hope your friend finds a good home for it.

fixing the scratches would basically be repaintinng the front and back bumpers. price would be somewhere between $5-700 i am pretty sure. So do you guys think think that the bumpers need to get redone prior to selling it?

I always think it's better to just talk about the positives and not the negatives. Scratches, dents, etc. always make me wonder what else wasn't taken care of. I'd get them all fixed and then try to sell.

might just do that. my friend and I believe in full disclosures so that is why everything is in the pics. i think most people would have just put the good pics on and left the rest of it up for discussion when someone actually came out to look at it.

at any rate, price is flexible so if anyone is interested, please PM me.

i will also try to take a better picture of the lower passenger side bumper to show the extent of the scratch as that is probably the one of most concern.

I agree with you and full disclosure is necessary. I would be really upset if the car was described as perfect and I showed up and saw those scratches and scuffs. I think the best thing to do is get all of those fixed up and then try to sell it. You will have to say some minor paint work was done, but hey, if the car looks new, then hopefully it shouldnt matter too much.

i don''t like people putting out "feelers". either the car is for sale or it isn't. nobody serious about buying a car is looking to waste time with a "feeler". that's probably a good reason for the low interest.

ok, the car IS 100% FOR SALE now. it was listed as a feeler before as he was not sure what exactly he wanted to do with it (trade in for a different or sell). we got a good trade in evaluation yesterday so it will most likely be traded in monday or tuesday. the reason i did not post my friend's info is because the car is currently with me and i am taking care of the sale for him. all info is readily veryfiable for any seriously intersted parties.

I'd be interested, but you're not in California.

No offense to your friend or you, but my lack of interest is because I'm asking myself how well was the car taken care of during its ownership. The car looks like it's not been garaged and has damage (though minor) on several different sides that hasn't been fixed. I'm not saying that your friend isn't careful, maybe just really unlucky but someone who doesn't have damage fixed may also not service the car properly... Take the feedback for what it's worth - probably less than .02
Oh, and just replacing the clearbra will be a few hundred bucks alone, even if the paint is not affected.
I do applaud your disclosure of the damaged areas!

I agree. You have to ask yourself how well he took care of that car. There are as many scratches on that car as my 2004 work truck. I think he would be much better off taking care of it prior to sale especially considering the crowd you are marketing to here.
