FS: Porsche 996 CF steering wheel $750 or next best offer

I saw there was a lot of interest in another member's CF steering wheel, which reminded me that I still have mine.

Mine is in great condition, no fading, and a barely noticeable hairline on the bottom. It's black, and does not come with an airbag.

Price $750 obo.

Located in Calabasas, Cali.

Pics available upon request; I'll try to shoot some this weekend.

Not hard at all. Get yourself a 22m socket. Disconnect battery's negative terminal. Position the steering wheel straight. There are two torx screws behind the steering wheel. Can't remember what size they are. T12 or T13. Once you unscrewed the airbag will come off, unplug 3 wires connected to airbag. Then it's time to take the steering wheel big nut out. Pull hard on steering wheel. Use WD40 if it stucks. Do reverse on installation of the new one. Make sure to connect the battery terminal last, so you don't get airbag light on.

What about switching from 4-spoke to 3-spoke? Obviously a new air bag for the 3-spoke would be nneded. And how much are the 3-spoke air bags anyone? Thanks for the info. too daytrader!

I have been looking for a discount on airbag for little more than a year. Obviously, airbag is not for sale. You can't buy a used one (blown) so the price stay near retail price. There are two versions, vinyl and leather with stitching. The vinyl is around $400 and the other is $495. I am debating if I should sell my vinyl for $300 and buy the leather one.

Yeah, I think I'd prefer going with a leather wheel/air bag combo myself. I was just curious if the swap from 4 to 3 was easy or not besides the air bag. I would think it's straight foward.

Pictures

Sorry for the delay. Here are the pics. I remembered that there was a hairline crack on the CF but I couldn't detect it when I took these pics. Great condition.

PM me if interested. To those who made offers via PM, let me know if you're still interested, and I apologize again for not taking these pictures sooner.

I'll be out of town for a couple of weeks. Best offer when I return takes it. I prefer local pick-up but I'll ship.

-Bobby
