Does anyone have a good condition shift boot with the lower silver trim ring sitiing around? I need it for a 2001 996tt. I actually just need the silver ring at the bottom of the boot. Its shaped like a horseshoe. For some reason the silver trim ring on the bottom of my factory boot is peeling. It's pretty dissapointing for Porsche Quality.

Same thing happened to mine. Unfortunately it is sold as 1 piece - ring, leather bag and shift ****.

Originally, I removed the whole thing, scraped off all the trim, spray painted it black cause I couldn't stand it.

Eventaully, I replaced the whole thing.

 

Great...... Do you know if the standard 996 has the same shifter boot?

I went with a RUF and the horse shoe part that is pealing is also covered in leather also. Its nice.
