I have a 997 SSK already. I thought that the ball and slider on my shifter had failed so I ordered this unit. I removed it from the package and hooked up the cables to test my current 997 SSK. Turns out that the problem was at the bracket under the tranny that acts a a cable guide. If I did not have one of these installed already, i would buy one today, as they are an amazing upgrade.

Someone buy this. This IS the short shifter to get. Smoothest SSK you can get for a 996tt... I love mine.
