"This B&M Short Throw Shifter has been designed to work on most 1998-2004 Porsche 911 (996) (all models), 2005 Porsche 911 (997) (all models) & 1997-2004 Porsche Boxster (986) (all models) equipped with a manual transmission. It has been engineered to greatly reduce shift throw and improve shifter feel."
!!! The shifter includes the OEM shifter console as well to make installation much simpler !!! This was installed in my 2003 996TT by a previous owner and performed normally when it was removed in favor of a 997 OEM SSK. The car had 23,000 miles on it when this was removed. Shift **** not included -- simply use the **** from your present shifter.

I feel the BM one is smoother. I have driven two cars with the 997ss. Again, that's just my personal opinion.
