ERP/RPS Triple Carbon Clutch Review/Install Pics

thanx for that i saw them on your comparison thread. do you think it will get any easier on day to day or is it just the way it is?

Before the change to ERP I didn't have this problem, so I guess it is related to the clutch/LWFW.

Day 3 with this clutch: hard to believe that I will ever like it. I only have half an inch of pedal way, which is already rounded up and 50% of this way is taking care for the judder. I probably have the wrong clutch for the task of normal driving. I never thought that this could happen.
It may well be that this clutch is useful for maximum torque under heavy load in a 1/4 mile race when doing a launch controlled run, but for daily driving in a strong car my clutch is just downright ridiculous. I say my clutch because there may be others that are working correctly. I don't want to bash this clutch in general.
So far I was verry, very pleased with their support. I will contact them again and see what they say.
You don't want to think of your clutch each and every time you see that you must stop in traffic. I do and this takes a lot of fun out of driving this car - even after months of engine build time.

you have to riiiiiiide the clutch. i have over 20k miles on my clutch since we put it in (april 2013). you have to ride the crap out of the clutch a few times in 2nd gear to smooth out the discs.
you have to slip the clutch. it wont break. it wont wear it out. its designed to be driven that way.

I don't know yet. Engine is still running in. Dyno day will be in about 3 weeks. I expect to see more than 800. Hence the choice towards this clutch.

do 3-5 second gear starts riding the clutch . then cool it down with car off and pedal pressed to teh floot for 3-4 minutes. should get better. they do grab pretty high.

I have no problem with slipping a clutch - every clutch is being slipped, no? The question is: to what extend? Do I have to start at over 2000 rpm to get a safe slipping point with this clutch? Thinking of stop&go traffic, this sound quite impractical.
I run a mafless tune which already has an elevated idle rpm and I would say it is impossible to get this car going at idle with just careful clutch pedal work.

I guess I really will give it a try and abuse it a bit.

I have this clutch. I bedded it in and 2000 miles later it's still the same. You just have to get used to slipping at higher rpm to get it going in 1st confidently. I'm going to beat the **** out of this clutch at the 1/4 mile. If it breaks I may try something different. If it doesn't then we're meant to be, lol.

Buy this to make city driving easier. Now it won't be technically "High" when you eliminate majority of the travel.

Thanks for your honest words. This what the website at carbonclutch.com says and that was what made me confident to buy the right thing:
Testimonials
Over 5,000 on my ERP Carbon Triple and still holds 900+ whp like a champ
Super smooth engagement, no chatter, can be dropped or slipped
The quality is there and the clutch is very user friendly. It is easy to modulate, it is smooth and it takes power really well. It is more clutch then my car needed but the overkill does not come at the expense of driveability like many clutches do.
The most streetable high performance clutch I’ve ever driven.
Super smooth engagement, no chatter, can be dropped or slipped
In addition to that, the steel LWFW does have some serious chatter below 3000 rpm as well, as they all have.
Compared to what I have now, the above must be testimonials of a different clutch. If I ever get used to it it will be after some training. No other person will be able to drive this car I guess. Add "perfect theft protection" to the testimonials.
We will see how it is after bedding in. I will try tomorrow.

Thanks. I don't have a problem with that high engagement. I can adjust to that. My issue is the instantaneous bite of the clutch at the engagement point.

It's going to engage rough when u have a racing clutch and big power. I just think there are liberties you have to give up when u go big. Btw sometimes these testimonials are from all different perspectives, plus people want to sell product. (I don't know who and where that testimonial came from though)
