Part fits: Porsche 911 997 Turbo

Hi,

I'm converting my 997.1 Turbo to center locks. I know Sun Coast has the kit for $1729 but maybe there is a kit for sale from a forum member.

Thanks

difparis is infamous around these parts
I know a lot of people who would like to do the exact opposite
It's a real nightmare and there is a growing number of cars loosing there wheels (I've seen it a couple of weeks on a track day in the south of France)
Stay with your fives bolts, you won't regret it.

I may be going to a 5 lug on my 996TT I have one cracked wheel and dont feel like waiting 4 weeks for a new one from ATS in germany. I have the 9ff CL system (copy of the porsche cup system essentially) and may be taking it off if i go 5-lug.

Let me know if anybody is interested in it.

If you want to do a centerlock conversion, then get the cup car parts, not the street parts. Much better. (but also more expensive)

Do not do it. Failures and user friendliness has been sub par.

All the GT3 guys are hating them and some switching over to 5 lugs.

If you really wanted to be baller you could switch over to Cup center locks and wheels but alas that is too commercial for turbo street use.

I've been running the Cub center lock (9ff version) for 7 years w/o problems. I made the switch bag to 5 lug to try a set of f14s in stock.

PM me if ou want the cup CL kit. It so simple and perfect, I really wonder why porsche had to screw it up for the GT3 CL.

No I have 18" ATS/9ff wheels. rear ET30.

The system will work with any cup wheel, BBS and Forgeline were other 9ff options.

I was thinking about converting to a CL system as well until I heard more negative experiences than positive from customers with aftermarket CL's. I agree that its the nicest looking setup, very clean looking; however, due to the torque it needs to be properly bolted on, it's almost impossible to take off a wheel by yourself without anyone holding down the breaks so that the tires don't spin while you attempt to loosen the center bolt. If you truly want CL's, I suggest replacing the entire hub with a OEM GT3 CL system rather the aftermarket conversion. Stay away from too many parts, we're not building a Lego's game and secondly, always remember that having wheels properly fastened on our cars is jus as important as having good working breaks. Playing conversion with functional parts can sometimes be very dangerous. Just be careful whatever you decide, you're playing at your own risk.
