Just installed my awe exhaust. LOVE it. Good luck finding one, free bump. I paid a little more than $1500 for mine used

Thanks for the heads up! I heard nothing but good things about this exhaust. That's why I finally narrowed it down to this one .

I've seen them for $1500-$1700 used in the past. Either way, no rush. The car isn't going anywhere . If you ever have the time, post a sound clip

Cool. Gimme some feedback after install. Mine just keeps getting better. I swear the sound has changed over the past few days. I think ecu is learning it.

Will do! Just to be clear, did you install it on your 996 or 997? Just wondering since it looks like your 996TT is for sale?

That makes sense . They seem a bit more common on 997s; freakin' hard to find one for a 996TT.

Jefe's 996 is infamous around these parts
How did you like the Speedtech exhaust on your 996? Thinking about getting one.

I'll let Talisman chime in but for whatever it's worth, I did a lot of research and found several people that did not like the quality of Speedtech. AWE Tuning is supposedly better; I'll let you know

I just happened to stumble upon this thread - I am pretty sure Talisman had our older, discontinued imported twin can (Gen 1) exhaust.

Since then, we designed a new system from the ground up and manufacture it 100% in the USA. The new system is vastly superior to the older twin can in every way - quality, performance, features and especially sound. Modular design, T304 stainless, 100 cell cats for crisper throttle response vs. the duller 200 cell in the previous version, etc. - I have only had compliments on the quality of our new (4 years old now) system...

You may want to read our testimonials to see what countless 6speeders are saying about the current SpeedTech system....

If I am mistaking, I appologize, but I seem to recall Talisman with the older system...

You are correct. I was pretty happy, even with the older system. Performance was great. The cats are gutted, I'm sure that helps.

I stumbled on your exhaust used because I refuse to pay the Porsche tax on new exhausts. This will probably rub you the wrong way, and I apologize in advance for it. But its insane how much everyone is willing to pay for Porsche exhaust systems. I have had many other cars that had more complicated exhausts with a lot more piping that were a third of the price. I found the AWE exhaust used as well, and paid too much used. I am happy with it as far as performance and sound go. For what its worth, I almost purchased you new system for both cars. I have read reviews and watched many many videos (for sound). You have a great reputation and are at least competitively priced. (Still too high ) I know my little rant isn't going to change anything, and I own several businesses, I would probably do the same thing in your position.

I seriously don't mean to offend, I think your new system is one of the best sounding and best priced systems avail.

I couldn't agree more! I own a BMW, Merc, VW and Porsche. The markup on Porsche parts is ridiculous. Everyone will defend it with their R&D, research, yadayada but at the end of the day, the only reason they are that expensive is because people are willing to pay for it for some reason?!

I'm not offended - I used to think the same thing. If you knew what it cost to build our system, you would not feel the tax is so high...just the cost to fab the tips, then have them mirror polished is a significant portion of the cost, then you have custom made cats with high quality substrates and internal X-Flow mufflers, V-flanged mid-pipes, the flanges and straps used throughout the system add up to more than you would think....it doesn't look like an expensive item to create, but looks can be deceiving when it is made with quality components throughout. The person buying it new, sees and appreciates the quality when they open the box...
