Why a version 1 controller specifically, is it because you want the 3 modes? If so, you should be aware that very few of the 3-mode v1 boxes could actually be written to from your PC for modifying profile maps. The very early ones could not, then there were a few produced in the next batch with code that made them writable, before they changed to the version 2 box that went back to 2 modes and the different led behavior (eliminated the flashing light). I think Para82 and maybe JohnnyDB have writable version 1 boxes, but the odds are any version 1 box you buy probably isn't, and you'll have to work with TPC to trade it in on a current version, which will have 2 modes.

No, I am not specifically looking for the older 3 mode unit.

From the TPC site http://www.tpcracing.com/dsc.html I understood that V1 was for all 997/987 models and V2 was for all 991/981 models.

DSC Sport V1 Controller
Available for all 997/987 PASM-equipped vehicles. (All .1 non-turbo vehicles require the purchase and installation of a DSC Sport 3-axis accelerometer.)

DSC Sport V2 Controller
Available for all 991/981 PASM-equipped vehicles.

Just looking for any DSC controller for the 997 model and specifically would like the newer 2 mode controller. I understand it corrects the annoying flashing light of the previous version.

Any more out there?

Hi, I’m also looking for the same V1 controller for my 997.1 T4S. If there are any of the newer 2-mode second hand units for sale please let me know. Thanks much!

Hello all. I have this unit available. Coming off my 997.2 Turbo S and will fit a .2 or .1. It will be for sale for $900. First person to PM me can have it. The unit is in perfect condition and is the newer white box version. Thanks!

Talk to Tom at TPC (tchan@dscsport.com) and tell him Bob Z. from Rennlist (and here as well) referred you and ask him for a discount, which should help a little and get you a brand new one. I installed it on my Targa GTS last week and I love it...works great.

Thanks. I can look into that. The used ones don't seem to be avy cheaper anyways.

What did you notice about the change? I have a 2011 GTS

A lot less body roll, even in Normal mode (PASM button not on) and even less in Sport (PASM button on), and less nose rise with hard braking and less squat when taking off. Keep in mind that I have a Targa that has more weight up high so those without should be even better. Worst case is you can sell it easily if you do not like it but I am sure you will.

That helps. I was on the fence about getting a set of extra rims or one of those. I might have to put wheels on hold for a bit.
