Is it possible to switch the front bumper of a 06' or 07' cgt with that of the newer models? The newer models bumper looks better. I dont know if fits the same. Anyone know the price of the front bumper?

It will work, but you need to change the grill surround area and the grill.

its the housing, that the metal grill snaps into.

I would disagree the front bumper of the 09 GT will not fit on a earlier car. You have to consider the new brightware that is around the headlights on the 09's. You would have to change the front fenders. The bumper is everything below the headlights. The grill surrounds? That is the front bumper. This will not work.

 

I'm basing my information off of actual experience. The grill surround unbolts from the hood...IT IS NOT part of the bumper. Otherwise you would not be able to open the hood! Nothing worse than the spreading of misinformation on the internet.

 

are you saying that the right & left front fenders would also have to be changed? and possibly the lights to fit with the front bumper?

 

the fenders are the same, lights are the same. Just change the front bumper and the grill surround area. I've done a kit designed for an 07 onto an 08 GT Speed. We only needed to change the grill.

 

I looked up the part numbers today and they are all different from 06 to 09. The hood the fenders the brightware and brightware brackets are all different. I misunderstood what you said about the grill surrounds. We call this the radiator shell or radiator support. I thought you were talking about the lower front grills. You got a little snippy there. I am just trying to help this guy and give him good advise. I am not spreading misinformation on the internet. Blitzo shouldnt take your word for it and just believe you when you say yeah it fits. Nor should he just believe everything that I say. He should ask questions and get information. No one wants to get stuck with a big parts bill and none of it work.

Blitzo sorry man, your just going to have to find out for your self. go find a friend with an 08-09 bumper and try fitting it to the car.
