I'm off to Merry Olde England - Any hints?

Next week I go to UK for a week, and while I'm there doing a day trip to Monaco to see the latest and greatest cars around

I've got a day or so spare round London - anyone got ideas on what I can do that relates to Bentley while I'm there? Not interested in old Bentleys, or really in any other model except the GT by the way.

Ditch London for more days in Monaco
(seriously)

But life has its own firm plans.

robbiemac is infamous around these parts
Instead of London, why not try and see if you can goto Crewe, travelling all this way, if it's bentley you want to see, no better place than the factory. Your authorised dealer should be able to arrange.

There's nothing specific bentley or car related museum or dispay wise that I'm aware of, but jack barclay are the bentley dealers in London, they also sell some other exotica. Nick Mason (of pink floyd fame) is connected to them (hr Owen s the parent co). There are some decent dealerships on park lane in lorndon.

The day trip to Monaco will be good, be prepared o see more exotics than standard cars. I was there a few weeks ago and there were more bentleys, ferrari's, astons, maseratis, lambos, bugattis and merc mclarens than there were bmws!

Thanks robbiemac, good idea. For many years I've travelled to UK once or twice a year, and apart from seeing family, I've run out of things to see and do.

Yes, I'm aware of the saying if you're tired of London then you're tired of life, but I usually self-drive and I'm tired of parking! In past years I've hired S-Class Mercs, and they are a pain to park. I should try a Smartcar this time.

I'm looking forward to Monaco, a chance to see some exotics in motion. I've seen a lot of firsts and rarities at Goodwood and some other exhibitions - was even asked to be an extra in a film! Static displays are fine, but good-looking cars look better when they move.

I am based in Central London and would be happy to take you for a pint.

The new 2012 GT (coupe and convertible) is available to test drive at Jack Barclay also

You should plan your next trip to London in August. August in London is probably the best place in the world to see really special cars. Koenigsegg's, Veyrons, Gemballa's, Zondas... You name it

Thanks for the offer, but my social calendar is now on overflow.

I agree August is good - I'll have to ask my mother why her birthday doesn't fall in that month

Well, I'm back and Monaco was excellent except for the lack of exotics. Saw only a couple of Bentley Continental GTs - both not new, a Lambo, one Aston Martin Vantage, couple of Ferraris, a Maybach and a really nice older Continental soft-top.

I know it's the off-season there, but I had expected a better turnout for all my travel

A few people I talked to on the plane were surprised I went all this way, London - Nice - Monaco - just for a day trip, but I covered all I wanted to see. I choppered in and out, and that made a big saving in time from the train or bus (and is the way I prefer to travel anyway!)

Some of the waterfront cafes were backpacker standard, but otherwise it is a very manicured place. Wouldn't mind living there if I had my life over again.
