After Bentley the What?

A post by our new member BGTHEMOGUL got me thinking about what a man drives after owning a Bentley? Call me naive but I am not sure what I would trade the Bentley for. Oh I am sure if funds allowed I could add to the stable but if the GTC was going to go what could replace it?

Has anyone gone from Bentley to another car? I bet most of our members are here because of continued ownership so if you have not traveled down that road have you seen anyone else trade away a Bentley and for what?

My car was traded by the first owner at Rolls Royce of Beverly Hills Ca. That kind of trade might seem logical to me, it is up the $ ladder for sure.

I just traded my Gt Speed in for a 2013 Mercedes E63 wagon, and personally can't wait to get it. Change it good.

are you wanting to stick with a similar type of car, or go more lux or more sporty? if you're going to get rid of it, what is it that makes you want to trade it out?

I am not wanting to trade. The poster that I mentioned was buying an 04 GT with thoughts of trading after a year or so. I guess i am so well please with my 07 GTC that I would have a hard time going to another brand of car. I am not a frequent trader or buyer so I may not be the norm around here.

I see now someone going to an E63 wagon and I will have to google that to see what that is.

I guess what I was trying to get at is that if there is a reason to look for another car, regardless of what your plans are for this one, figure out the reason(s) and go from there. Want a sportier addition to your garage? Or something you'd be more at ease with driving every day? You mentioned Rolls Royce, do you want something more up-market?

More Up-market??? truthfully bro. I can't afford more up than I have.

I guess I have not reason to get another car and some of that has to do with the fact that i am so pleased with the Bentley. Now as time goes on who knows what changes will occur to change my tastes or desires. The GTC that I have is a very easy car to drive but dame use more fuel than some two doors. I accept that for now. RR is not sporty enough for me even if I could accept the price tag.

I looked at the E 63 Wagon and must assume that needs or desires have changed to go from a two door sports coupe to a wagon. Change does happen and sometimes is good.

Please refer to my other thread to answer your question. I addressed the only reason I would sell in a year or so after purchasing. The basic principle is to be able to have different exotics without losing any money, or very minimal, on the purchases.

I hear ya. I absolutely adore my V8V, but I still wouldn't mind a Gallardo spyder. Won't be able to afford one any time soon, but "what's next?" is already on my mind!

Hey Gr... I had not seen your post before I submitted, but I LOVE it.

In the Harley Davidson world we refer to that kind of ride as a geezer glide. When I get to old to drive and I want a chauffeur then I'd like a big a-- RR with a port-potty in it.

And why?

Many of us here are automobile enthusiasts, and as such can a single vehicle truly satisfy our varied desires for driving excellence? How does one define 'driving excellence'? What is the criteria the vehicle needs to meet? Track? Street/city? Grand touring? Large family transport? Winter snow? Summer heat?

The whole point is to have fun, enjoy life and as always.... (see sig file below)

Ok it was a stupid thread. Hell I could not even spell the title correctly.

My criteria for this car was a snazzy fast sexy two door daily driver. I did answer my own question for me and that was a newer GTC with pipes and a tuner.

Interesting question. I've had a number of exotics over the years, but what's keeping me from straying from the CGT is the perfect personality match.

It is such a great fit for me because I'm too conventional-looking to pass off in a Ferrari, too OCD for a lesser-built car, still young enough at 63 to plant my foot when I want to, and maybe just waspy enough to suit the Bentley without looking as if I won it on lotto.

I had looked at Porsches because I love the handling, but my wife succinctly said I didn't suit them. The Vanquish was nice, but I felt too old for it.

The Bentley has all the right stuff... the sporty look is unique, the interior is the best I've seen in any car, ride is perfect for a GT, power - well, you couldn't get better.

In short, in the Bentley I finally found a car which ticked all the boxes and then some. For the first time in my car-buying life I simply cannot see beyond another CGT as my next car.

As an extra thought though, a DB5 would be just perfect. Nothing gets the heart pounding more than a perfectly restored black or silver model. I don't care how it drives, the sound and looks are 100% desire. It's on my wishlist - but the Bentley stays!
