iPad adapter for 2008 CFS

Hello,
I am new to this form, so please accept my apology if I am asking a question that has already been addressed. I have a 2008 Continental Flying Spur, and would like to be able to plug my iPhone and or iPod in and have control from Infotainment system and steering wheel. Paul Miller Bentley here in NJ says they have a Bentley certified part and can do the job for $1100. Wanted to know if anyone has iPd interface installed and what there experience was. Also is the dealer route the best option for this.

Thanks.

Mine has the iphone connection option which comes with a USB connector.

I dont really use it much but it plays stored music well with controls via steering wheel. I cant recall if it displays song names as I dont use it but can check for you later. I found out it does not play streamed music from say a website or online radio station as it keeps on cutting out. The cable is stored in a little leather pouch inside the glovebox thus you cannot have iphone insight as door wont close nor is cable long enough to reach gearstick area. That means you will miss your iphone calls unless you use your in-car phone.

I am going to have the dealer module installed this week. Ill keep you all posted. Has anyone tried the dealer installed and certified modual?

"Personally, we’re pretty shocked by this move from the good boys over at Crewe, England, but we welcome this with open arms and we’re looking specifically at all our Bentley Continental owners over here. Starting now, your local Bentley dealership will offer the ability to install an iPod connectivity kit which will be a "factory" part, and not after market. But damn, how the heck can I control the iPod? Leave it up to the sneaky brits, because once that bad boy is plugged in "track selection and volume can be controlled via the infotainment system or steering mounted controls." Amaaazing! Just in case this doesn’t knock your socks off, "a USB input is available allowing any music device with a USB port to be used and controlled via the infotainment system". It just gets better and better, doesn’t it? "To ensure your device is kept safe whilst in use, a leather holder has been designed to house and protect the player in the glove compartment. The high quality fleece lined Schoeller material offers maximum protection." Well, you heard it folks! This is compatible with the Bentley Continental series like the Bentley Continental GT, and Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Model compatibility years are not specified so theoretically this might work back to on ’04 model."
